Listen. Learn. Love.
This is how we move forward as a people.

Last week, our founder, Bradley Pierson, met with the Minister for Women and Gender Equality, Rechie Valdez, alongside other entrepreneurs in the Edmonton area.

She listened to how Trouvay is supporting the effort to bring home Missing and Murdered Relatives across the country.

And she heard us when we asked to connect with more ministries to make this groundbreaking technology more accessible.

This is how we move forward as a people.
Listen. Learn. Love.

When we find our families, we find ourselves.

Over the past month, we've met 3 people, all searching for lost family members who disappeared.

These new friends shared that siblings, uncles, and aunties died at the Indian Hospitals, and their families were left without answers.

Unsure of what happened and where they were now.

We found 6 of these missing relatives by digging into the Alberta Death Records (1870-1976) at the Provincial Archives of Alberta, and watched as grieving hearts slowly found some peace.

Finding our families and knowing the truth changes lives.

This is one part of what truth and reconciliation looks like.

Stay tuned to hear more about these stories that are still unravelling! 🤍

Meet Mary Dustow, our Director of Community Partnerships.

Mary is a proud member of Fishing Lake Métis Settlement, deeply connected to her community & culture.

Mary and Bradley crossed paths at the Settlement office, and the fireworks of excitement were immediate.

United by a passion for the Missing and Murdered and the power of DNA to uncover truth, she joined the Trouvay team in 2024.

Today, Mary ensures our relations are built in a good way, with one goal in mind: bringing the missing home.

Meet our Founder, Bradley Pierson.

Bradley’s life’s work has always been about finding people and their stories.

At 13, he discovered his family tree and couldn’t let it go.
At 16, he preserved Residential School records at the Archives.
At 22, he supported 100+ people in using DNA genealogy to find their birth families.
At 24, he founded Trouvay to help Canada walk a new path in forensic identification.

Today, Bradley leads a team working alongside communities and investigators to bring Missing and Murdered Relatives home, in a good way.

We bring missing people home.

That’s what we do.

Across Canada, thousands of people remain unidentified in medical examiner offices or unmarked graves, many of them Indigenous. For decades, families have lived without answers.

Here’s why: Traditional DNA identification only works when a person or close relative is already in a police database. When it isn’t, the trail ends.

Now, it doesn’t have to. New DNA methods let distant cousins volunteer their DNA, which our researchers can use to reconstruct family trees and identify the missing.

This is Kayās by Trouvay.

Kayās Community DNA workshops support families to reconnect with their ancestors, learn about DNA, and decide if they want to help. Always consent. Always reciprocal. Always community-led.

Everyone deserves to be named and brought home in a good way.

Because now, there is a way.

Residential school researchers change lives & communities daily.

These beautiful friends shared stories of digging through thousands of documents, reconnecting separated families, and finding the children who never came home. Together we explored how genealogy can help find truth.

A huge thank you to the CTV Edmonton team for interviewing our founder, Bradley Pierson, and sharing the important work we’re doing at Trouvay:

✨ Our researchers assisted the Toronto Police Service team with the identification of Garnet Michael Nelson (Lake Huron John Doe).

✨ We now support Indigenous communities through DNA testing for MMIP cases and residential school victims.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission of truth, healing, and closure.
