Sometimes the body just needs the right plan and the right support. 🌿

One of our practice members shared this about her experience with Dr. Wendy:

“I started seeing Dr. Wendy with a list of symptoms a mile long after getting no real answers elsewhere. The x-rays made me feel certain the care was informed and actually going to help me.”

Through consistent care and lifestyle changes, she went from dealing with head and neck pain, spasms, chronic sinus congestion, ringing in her ears, throat pain, light sleep, and nervousness…to now only experiencing occasional jaw tightness.

“It has honestly been such a blessing to feel that my entire body and nervous system has healed so much.”

Corrective chiropractic care isn’t about endless visits - it’s about addressing the root cause, supporting the nervous system, and helping your body function the way it was designed to.

We’re so grateful to be part of stories like this. 💛

The spine protects the spinal cord, which is the communication pathway between the brain and body.
When posture places stress on spinal structures, it can influence how efficiently the nervous system functions.
Poor posture may contribute to:
increased muscle tension
reduced blood flow
restricted joint movement
increased nervous system stress
These factors can combine to create an environment where headaches occur more frequently.
Signs Your Headaches May Be Posture Related
Certain symptoms suggest posture may be contributing to headaches.
These include:
headaches that worsen after working at a computer
tension at the base of the skull
neck stiffness
headaches that begin in the neck and travel upward
headaches that improve with movement or stretching
Students, professionals, and entrepreneurs who spend long hours at desks may notice these symptoms more frequently.
The Role of Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care focuses on supporting healthy spinal movement and nervous system function.
Many individuals seek chiropractic care when they experience headaches related to muscle tension and spinal stress.
Chiropractors assess several factors, including:
spinal alignment
joint mobility
muscle balance
posture habits
lifestyle factors
Care plans may include spinal adjustments, movement recommendations, and strategies to support healthier posture throughout the day.
Daily Habits That Support Healthy Posture
In addition to professional care, simple lifestyle changes can help reduce postural stress.
Helpful strategies include:
Raise screens to eye level
This reduces the need to tilt the head forward.
Take movement breaks
Standing and stretching every 30–45 minutes helps reduce spinal strain.
Strengthen the upper back
Exercises that strengthen the muscles between the shoulder blades help support better posture.
Improve workstation ergonomics
Position the keyboard, mouse, and screen so the body remains upright and balanced.
Supporting Long-Term Postural Health
Posture is not simply about “sitting up straight.” It reflects how the body adapts to daily habits and stresses.
Improving posture requires:
awareness
movement
strengthening
regular spinal checkups
Children, students, entrepreneurs, and professionals can all benefit from understanding how posture affects the body.
Postural Health in Edmonton
Across Edmonton communities such as Highlands, Crestwood, Glenora, and Riverdale, many individuals are experiencing the effects of prolonged screen use and sedentary work.
Supporting posture through regular movement, strengthening exercises, and spinal care can help individuals maintain comfort, mobility, and energy throughout their daily lives.

Those early newborn days are beautiful… but they can also be overwhelming. 🤍

Fussiness, trouble settling, digestive discomfort, and sleep challenges are often brushed off as “just normal baby things.” But many of these signs can simply mean your baby’s nervous system is still learning how to regulate and adapt to life outside the womb.

Birth is a big experience for a tiny body. Gentle, nervous-system focused chiropractic care can help release tension, support communication between the brain and body, and help babies feel more comfortable as they grow and develop. ✨

Your baby deserves a calm, connected start. 🤍

Research published in 2024 and 2025 confirms that strength training triggers specific physiological adaptations to improve delivery outcomes and maternal health.

Strength training builds the stamina required for the physically demanding “marathon” of labor. Enhanced strength in the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles improves the effectiveness of active pushing during the second stage of labor.

Training also reduces the risk of macrosomia (excessive birth weight) and gestational diabetes, both of which are primary medical reasons for emergency C-Sections.

Pregnancy also shifts the center of gravity forward, causing an exaggerated curve in the lower spine (lordosis). Strengthening the back, core and glutes provides the structural support needed to maintain better posture and alleviate pressure on the spine.

Resistance training helps stabilize joints that become increasingly lax due to the hormone relaxing reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries and sciatic pain.

Regular resistance training also prevents the typical deterioration of vitality throughout pregnancy, helping women maintain consistent energy levels. Exercise also stimulates the release of endorphins, dopamine and serotonin, while lowering cortisol (stress hormone) levels.

Building physical strength improves self-esteem, self-confidence, and a sense of control, which are directly associated with lower incidences of prenatal anxiety and depression.

Everyone tells you to stop feeding at night.

To stretch the sleep.
To break the habit.
To teach independence.

But your body tells a different story.

At night, prolactin rises.
Oxytocin flows.
Milk production peaks when the world is quiet.

Your baby wakes not because they’re spoiled
but because biology designed it this way.

In the dark, while you’re half asleep
your body is still listening.

It adjusts.
It responds.
It produces what your baby needs most in that moment.

This isn’t just feeding.
This is regulation.
This is immune support.
This is brain building.
This is safety.

You are tired because you are doing something powerful.

You are showing up in the hours no one sees.
When the house is silent.
When the world is asleep.
When only you and your baby exist.

And that matters more than anyone will ever admit.

Night feeds are not habit.
They are biology.

And you are doing something extraordinary.
