Muscle, bone, joint, and other musculoskeletal (MSK) concerns are among the most common reasons Albertans seek medical attention. These conditions can limit mobility, impact work, daily life, and place ongoing pressure on Alberta’s healthcare system.

Chiropractors play an important role in easing this pressure by offering patient-centered, evidence-based care that helps people recover safely and effectively. Their care helps Albertans move with less pain, improve movement, stay active, and return to the activities that matter most.

If you’re considering whether chiropractic care may be a good fit for your needs, we encourage you to explore our website with this link to learn more about MSK health and your care options. - https://www.albertachiro.com/chiropractic-treatment-and-benefits

The Chiropractic Association of Alberta was honoured to attend the 2026 Women + Wealth Gala in both Edmonton and Calgary, an International Women’s Day celebration created to inspire, support, and empower women through leadership, financial confidence, and meaningful community connection. Held at the Edmonton Convention Centre with more than 800 attendees, the gala brought together women leaders, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and community partners committed to fostering generational success.

The Edmonton gala featured a compelling keynote from Raia Carey, dynamic emceeing by Joelle Tomlinson, and opening remarks from Lauren Kyle McDavid, who set a powerful tone focused on creativity, confidence, and women’s stories. Calgary’s gala continued the momentum as current CAA board director Dr. Rebecca McAllister and past director Dr. Jamila Abdulla, represented our organization as part of this two‑night celebration of women’s leadership and resilience.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Peter Kinkaide and the entire Raintree team for hosting our members with extraordinary generosity. Peter’s vision and leadership have built something remarkable over the past 11 years, creating a movement that champions women’s confidence, financial empowerment, and community connection. Partnering with Raintree has opened new opportunities for our members, and we are grateful for the thoughtful environment they continue to create for dialogue, collaboration, and professional growth.

We remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift women’s leadership and contribute to the long‑term wellbeing of Albertans.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Low Back on Track, a publicly funded pilot program designed to improve timely access to musculoskeletal (MSK) care for Albertans experiencing low back pain. Through partnerships with the Calgary Foothills and Red Deer Primary Care Networks, eligible adults can now receive up to eight funded chiropractic visits over 90 days at no cost.

Low back pain is the leading cause of disability in Alberta and one of the most common reasons people seek primary care. Early access to chiropractic care has been shown to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support long‑term functional recovery. By integrating chiropractors more closely with primary care teams, Low Back on Track enhances coordination, strengthens care pathways, and helps Albertans receive the right care at the right time.

The pilot will run until summer 2026, with ongoing evaluation assessing patient outcomes, system value, and opportunities to expand funded MSK care across the province. Insights gained will help inform future community‑based programs aimed at improving accessibility and reducing the burden of low back pain in Alberta. If you are in the Calgary Foothills or Red Deer and believe this program could benefit you, speak with your primary care provider about a referral.

To learn more about Low Back on Track, review eligibility criteria, and view participating clinics, visit our website or learn more here - https://www.albertachiro.com/lowbackpilot.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more accessible future for MSK care in Alberta.

International Women’s Day offers an important opportunity to recognize the many ways women strengthen society and contribute to safer, more compassionate healthcare in Alberta.

To mark the day, we invited women within the Chiropractic Association of Alberta to share their reflections on leadership, resilience, and the habits that support their success. Their insights highlight the value of mentorship, empathy, healthy boundaries, curiosity, and continuous learning; qualities that strengthen both professional practice and patient care.

As regulated health professionals, we know that diverse lived experiences create more responsive, effective care for the people of Alberta. Today, we celebrate the women whose leadership continues to move our profession forward.

We invite you to read their words, share them with colleagues and students, and take a moment to recognize the women leaders who make chiropractic care stronger every day.

Today we begin a three‑month spotlight on the pillars of our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan. We start with Pillar one, which highlights chiropractors as Alberta’s primary contact providers for MSK health.

Chiropractors are regulated and highly trained professionals who assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of spine, muscle, nerve and joint conditions. They support common concerns such as back and neck pain, headaches, sprains, strains, arthritis‑related issues and other MSK health related issues that affect daily movement and function.

Chiropractic care is non‑invasive and evidence‑based. Through manual therapy, rehabilitative exercises and patient education, chiropractors help Albertans recover, improve mobility, and prevent repeat injuries. With access to publicly funded diagnostic imaging and Alberta Netcare, chiropractic care creates a safe and coordinated first step for many MSK concerns.

Stronger access to MSK expertise also helps ease the load on family physicians and improves overall access to care across the province. No referral required.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to CPiRLS so far. Your involvement is helping shape a stronger culture of learning and safety within Alberta chiropractic care.

If you have not yet completed the Patient Safety Culture Survey, there is still time. Your insights are essential to understanding how safety is experienced across clinics and to informing the continued rollout of CPiRLS. The survey closes March 10. We have also listened to member feedback and added to our frequently asked questions section on the Chiropractic Patient Incident Reporting & Learning System webpage. Our hope is that this will make the process clearer and easier to navigate. We encourage you to revisit the page to gain a deeper understanding of what this system can offer you, your practice, and your patients.

Thank you for helping CPiRLS find its place in Alberta. The growth of this system represents growth for every chiropractor committed to continuous improvement and professional excellence.
