A Look at Our Interactive Projectors at Allen Gray – OBIE
We’re excited to share how OBIE, an interactive multisensory projector, is enhancing engagement, movement, and connection across our Allen Gray community.
OBIE is used in a variety of areas, including our Adult Day Support Program, Child Care Program, Continuing Care floors, and intergenerational programs, making it a versatile tool enjoyed by people of all ages.
OBIE transforms everyday surfaces — such as tables, walls, or floors — into interactive experiences that respond to movement. There are no controllers, no complicated buttons, and no technology experience needed. Participants simply move their hands or feet to interact with the images projected onto the surface.
✨ Examples of activities include:
• Popping balloons or floating bubbles with a gentle tap
• Matching and memory games projected onto a table
• Simple puzzles and word games
• Sweeping leaves, fish, or lights as they appear on the floor
• Calming sensory visuals such as ripples, colors, or nature scenes
• Group games that promote cognition, conversation, and connection
OBIE activities can be enjoyed seated or standing, independently or with others, and are easily adapted for different abilities — including individuals using wheelchairs or those living with cognitive changes.

OBIE will be available not only during structured program times, but also during visits, allowing families to explore, play, and connect together in a relaxed and meaningful way.
