Feeling anxious or overwhelmed?
Try this:
🌬️ Put one hand on your chest, one on your belly.
🐢 Slow your breath until your exhales are twice as long as your inhales.
☁️ Imagine your breath moving like waves...rising, falling, softening.
🫶 Whisper to yourself: “I am safe in this moment.”
That’s enough. That’s more than enough.
You don’t need to be anywhere else.

✨ When the Universe Says: Pause ✨

Sometimes the signs aren’t subtle.

The tech crashes.
The plans fall apart.
The power literally goes out.

And suddenly… there’s nothing left to push.

This week reminded me of something so important, especially at this often crazy time of year:

🌿 Rest is not failure.
🌿 Pausing is not falling behind.
🌿 Slowing down is not giving up.

When we surrender to what is, instead of fighting what isn’t, something softens inside us.

So much of our stress comes from trying to control what’s out of our hands…
the timing, the outcome, the expectations, the “shoulds.”

The nervous system doesn’t need more pressure, it needs safety.

And sometimes safety comes from letting go…

of the to-do list,
of the urgency,
of the need to make everything happen right now.

If everything feels harder than it should…
If you keep hitting walls…
If your body is whispering (or shouting) for rest…

Maybe this is your reminder that:

✨ You are allowed to pause.
✨ You are allowed to rest.
✨ You are allowed to surrender.
✨ You don’t have to control it all.

Especially during this season. May we choose presence over pressure, trust over tension, and compassion over pushing.

Take this as your permission slip to soften, breathe, and let life meet you where you are. This message came through loud and clear for me this week, and I’m grateful I listened and allowed myself to PAUSE.

You can only meet your child as deeply as you've learned to meet yourself.

Recently, something very powerful became clear in a client session.

My client wasn’t doing anything “wrong” as a parent.
She wasn’t unloving.
She wasn’t careless.

She had simply been abandoning herself for years, without knowing it.

She never learned how to come home to herself.
How to stay with her emotions.
How to support herself when things felt hard, overwhelming, or painful.

And when we don’t know how to be with *our own* emotions…
it becomes incredibly difficult to be fully present with the emotions of our children.

Not because we don’t care,
but because their feelings activate the very parts of us that were once left alone.

So we distract.
We minimize.
We fix.
We shut down.
Or, we ask them to move on before we’ve truly met them where they are.

This is not a failure. This is a learned survival pattern.

When we learn how to stop abandoning ourselves...
when we learn how to sit with our emotions with compassion, safety, and grace, and presence...
something beautiful happens.

We begin to offer that same presence to our children.

We don’t rush them through their feelings.
We don’t need them to be “okay” for us to feel okay.
We become a steady place they can land.

Healing ourselves is not selfish.
It’s one of the greatest gifts we can offer the next generation.

Because when we come home to ourselves,
we teach our children, without words, how to come home to themselves too. 💛

Anxiety isn’t random.
It’s the body remembering something that felt unsafe, even if your mind can’t name it.

You don’t have to fix your anxiety.
You have to attune to it.

Breathe.
Place your hand on your belly.
Say:

“You’re not bad. You’re trying to help me.”

Compassion is regulation.
Your system isn’t the problem; it’s the key.

Overwhelm isn’t a flaw, it’s a signal.

A signal that your system is at capacity.

When everything feels like “too much,” what you need isn’t to push harder…
You need to pause.
To breathe.
To downshift.
To gently ask yourself:

“What’s the smallest thing I can do to bring my system 2% more ease right now?”

That 2% shift is how you begin to regulate.

One breath, one boundary, one small kindness at a time.

Disconnection isn’t failure.It’s your body’s way of saying: “I don’t feel safe here.”This numbness? This fog? This sense...

This numbness? This fog? This sense of being far away?
That’s not weakness...it’s a survival strategy.

Your system is doing what it was trained to do: shut down when it doesn’t feel held.

The invitation isn’t to force connection…
It’s to meet yourself right here, in the numbness.

Put a hand on your heart.
Breathe.
Whisper: “It’s safe to come back.”

That’s how reconnection begins.
