What does the 'feminine rising' really mean?
Does it mean that we get to hide behind our screens and read inspiring books, in hopes that someone out there will inspire the change that is being asked of us? No, of course not. It requires our action and attention.
The feminine rising (which is what I wrote about in Midwifery For the Soul) is not some trend that looks pretty on IG.
It is hard bloody work to sift through your interior world, navigating all the unresolved emotional debris, embodying the felt experience, and cracking open the heart centre so that it can lead.
Without the heart leading, we are being governed by fear.
The feminine rising is dangerous.
Dangerous to the dominant narratives. Dangerous to the old ways of knowing. Dangerous because it is seen to be rebellious. And, in this rising rebellious energy is the power to destroy through hearts knowing.
What about the rebel is dangerous?
We do not like it when anyone challenges our deeply embedded beliefs. Beliefs that give rise to the lens through which we see, feel, hear, and behave. Most beliefs are unconscious, imprinted, and/or founded upon unquestioned fears.
The power of the feminine energy, which is the power of the soul energy, is fierce, chaotic, wild, instinctive, alive, creative, ferocious, intuitive, passionate, and unpredictable.
It is not logical. And, in the lack of logic it is utterly dismissed.
I hear the musings of the rising feminine throughout social media platforms. And I hold the question: Do you know what it takes to 'rise in your feminine power'?
It takes a willingness to look at our deepest fears and sit in the destabilizing energy of such. it takes a willingness to hold our deepest pains (collective and personal) and stay present to the heart. It requires that we anchor into the earth while wild fires run through our bodies, burning away all of our historical trauma. It takes a knowing that there is purpose in the pain. And, it requires that we step outside of our need to control and let this inner force awaken us.
There is nothing passive or mental about the rising feminine. It is embodied soul work that is messy, scary at times, and worth every tear shed.
