All grown up. Congrats to Nader, Noah, Hazer and Joey on levelling up today! 2025 is a wrap

Nader is our first student on our team. Seeing him grow and develop his skills both on and off the mats with us has been a joy to be a part of. From traveling and competing, to building up our west location’s kids program and member base, Nader put 100% of his dedication into being Bravé since day 1. I love seeing how much this sport has positively impacted his life and I can’t wait for another big year ahead for him.

Noah called me all on his own at the age of 12 eager to train mma. He was among the smallest most hardest working student in the room since the OG days. He stuck it through with the adult program and recently got the arm bar finish in his first mma bout. Seeing him grow up and become a man makes me very proud. I can’t wait to continuously see where this journey takes him.

Hazar is a force. One of the hardest rolls in the room. Always gives his best and knows how to put the pressure on. As soon as he started training he got some mats at his house and brought his friends over to practise on them. I’m excited to see him take this new level on and show case his talents in 2026.

Joey has been training jiujitsu for just about a decade. He came to our gym as a yellow belt and quickly fit right in. He’s such a great example to the other teenagers and always willing to help others. He’s got a big heart and even bigger drive to want to continuously better himself. Always asking questions and recently tested his skills hitting the podium in ADCC Open Niagara. Sky is the limit for this kid

Great to see Rory back in the competition scene for BJJ!

The mayor shares his thoughts on his first experience being part of our Guardians program at Bravé MMA! The focus on improving the mental health of our students is equally as important as learning how to protect themselves in this unique program.

We’re grateful for the city of Edmonton and the mayor supporting this program so we can continue to carve brighter futures and more positive leaders ahead for the next generation

Coach KB will still host the evening boxing classes across both locations.

ADCC DEBUT 🥉

📍 | Niagara Falls

Our team of 5 competitors collected 2 bronze and 18 matches in counting.

Although we didn’t have the highest results to show for it, I’m very proud of the progress our novice level athletes are making:

Joey debuted with a dominant RNC finish in his bronze medal match

Greg with only 8 months of experience is in town from work half a month at a time. He made his debut in first ever competition. He is going to be a force and got a submission finish in 1/3 of his matches.

Nader and Eli both had up to 4-5 matches. They went from only fighting once in previous ADCC showings to going as far as the semi finals.

I’m proud of all of our guys giving it their all and representing us so well.

Thankful for coach KB coming out and helping coach the team and very grateful for our team of coaches back home who held down the fort to allow us the opportunity to test ourselves. We were able to still keep the academy running for our students because of you guys and we couldn’t be more grateful for that.

Congrats to Maxim on his blue belt graduation! We have seen Maxim grow and take some strides in improving both his striking and BJJ knowledge. Maxim’s first year of training was spent on just enjoying the process. Over the last year after that he developed a passion for competing in both striking and jiujitsu getting his hand raised and hitting podium at every turn. He’s a great example of what a martial artist embodies both on and off the mats and we couldn’t be more proud to honor him this achievement. Ossss

Fighters need off seasons. This was something I never truly understood or respected until I’ve been sidelined by some serious injuries. This sport demands a lot out of you - both physically and mentally. So when an injury comes, an athlete naturally feels borderline depressed and unworthy of progressing. However that’s very wrong - at least the ladder. What can help turn that state of despair into feeling determined to improve is adapting to new learning methods.

Nader nearly took an entire year away from competition due to a crippling knee injury. He went from competing every month his first year to making the weight room his main training grounds. As we got the clear to drill, for a long time all he could do were private lessons with very low resistance. We also had to make the right decision for him to not do Novice Con again as it was still to early to get back in.

He now came back on top, against a tough blue belt, 10 lbs heavier than him, in the cage with a flawless performance. We plan to finish the year strong in at the falls next week. I love seeing how he didn’t let this injury stop him from evolving his game. It’s only up from here.

Moral of the story: don’t wait to get injured to reap and sow the benefits of an off season. Adapt and change the way you train without constantly going one speed all the time.

Thank you for hosting us and giving our fighters a chance to test themselves

The team keeps going!! What an incredible performance by all our athletes closing out the year strong event tonight. 9 of our fighters got their hand raised across MMA, Grappling, Kickboxing and Boxing. Love this team and love their grind day in, day out.
