Every step of our Plant Walks are a lesson on how much we can learn from the land. Guided by Karen, a Métis Knowledge Holder, we walk through the boreal forest and learn how to identify plants and their traditional uses.

Each season has new forest floor treasures to uncover, from Fireweed shoots as a tasty snack in the spring, to harvesting their roots in the fall for medicine.

Long before glass beads were introduced through trade, Indigenous peoples created intricate designs using natural materials like quills, seeds and shells.🦴 Later, colourful glass beads brought new ways to express identity and culture.

Our workshops continue this living tradition. Each session is a space to learn, connect, and carry these teachings forward!
