“The lesson keeps showing up until you learn it?”

Or maybe, “If you ignore the whisper, you’ll get the shout.”

👉It’s that moment when you get the same feedback for the 3rd… 4th… 9th time.

When you KNOW something’s not working, but you’re hoping this time will be different.🤦‍♀️

I tried countless quick fixes, but felt terrible about myself when I just couldn’t make them stick.

If I wanted to lose the weight that had crept on midlife, I needed to focus on what truly fit my life, not just the latest fad.

For me, that looked like:
✅ Prioritizing my macros to fuel my body right
✅ Finding movement that I actually enjoyed and could stick to
✅ Building a mindset that empowered me instead of holding me back

That moment when you’re staring at a tempting dessert tray, trying to figure out how to indulge without going overboard.

For me, I’d either:
→ Not indulge at all because I didn’t trust myself around sugar.
→ Or say "screw it" and end up eating more than I intended, feeling guilty afterward.

That’s what the all-or-nothing thinking looks like.

It’s not just about the sweets; it’s what the little voice in our head tells us.
→ “I don’t have any willpower.”
→ “I can’t trust myself around treats.”
→ “I give up! I’ll just start fresh on Monday.”

But here’s what I’ve learned:
Your relationship with food gets easier the second you stop assigning morality to it.

Now, I can enjoy a piece of dessert and move on without the guilt.
It’s about finding balance and understanding that treats can fit into a healthy lifestyle.

Every so often, I have to remind myself that feeling less stressed isn’t something you just “decide” to do.

It’s a lot like happiness… and it can show up as a side effect of two things:
1️⃣ What’s happening in your life
2️⃣ How you respond to it

And on some busy, overscheduled days, it feels like calm is the last thing I can reach.

The good news: it usually doesn’t take a huge shift to move a little closer.

For me, stepping away from stress looks like:
→ Taking a few minutes to breathe deeply and clear my mind before diving into my next task
→ Fitting in a quick walk to get some fresh air and movement
→ Saying no to something that doesn’t need to happen right now

You’ve heard me say it before… but you do know that rest and recovery are essential parts of the journey to get back in shape, right?

Well… what’s your ideal rest day look like?

Here’s mine 👇
→ Waking up with a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise
→ No alarms or strict schedules
→ A walk outside to clear my mind and get some fresh air
→ Comfy clothes all day to feel relaxed
→ Taking my time to enjoy meals without rushing
→ No productivity guilt—just embracing the moment
→ Enjoying some downtime to recharge mentally and physically

Why is this such a big deal?

Rest isn’t something you “earn” after a productive week; it’s crucial for replenishing your energy so you can show up better in your workouts and everyday life.

I am a Fitness & Weight loss Expert for Women over 40 with over 25 years of coaching experience. It totally excites me to help people boost their strength & fitness, self-knowledge, confidence, and LOVE for movement and whole nutritious food so they can live life fully.

My passion is to help people understand how exercise and diet play such a huge role in injury and disease prevention, improves our day to day lives, how easy it can be, and that it is so rewarding!
