Community Living Essex County Providing supports to people with an intellectual disability and their families in Essex County.

Who We Are and What We Do:

Community Living Essex County, a not-for-profit charitable organization, has been committed to assisting people of all ages who have an intellectual disability and their families throughout Essex County since 1961. The goals of Community Living Essex County are that all persons can live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of living in the community, and have the opportunity to participate effectively. Community Living Essex County envisions a society where everyone belongs, has equality, respect, and acceptance. The gifts, uniqueness, and innate value of each individual are celebrated, supported, and acknowledged as essential to the completeness of the whole community. We help the community develop its capacity to welcome and support people who have not always had the same opportunities as the rest of us to participate in community life in meaningful, productive ways. Over 700 employees and many dedicated volunteers join together at Community Living Essex County to ensure that quality supports and opportunities are provided to people with intellectual disabilities in Essex County.

Friday was a night filled with friendship, celebration and the joy of live theatre as Derek, Stephen, Lisa and Joshua came together to celebrate Derek's 31st birthday at the opening night of Windsor Light Music Theatre's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The cupcakes weren't bad either!

Happy belated birthday, Derek! 🎉

Tony recently celebrated his 78th birthday!
When Tony arrived for his equine therapy session earlier this month, his horse, Briar, was ready to party!
🐴✨ Sporting a party hat and a decorated stall, Briar made sure Tony felt extra special.

Tony’s participation in this wonderful program at the Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association is made possible thanks to dedicated volunteers and generous supporters who give to fundraisers like their current 50/50 draw. If you’d like to help support Tony and the many others benefiting from WETRA programs, you can visit their page to learn more about their current 50/50 fundraiser!
