THANK YOU for 11 great years!
After over a decade of serving the Islington Village community, I am regrettably leaving Summit Natural Health Centre. My final working day will be on March 26, 2022.
Patients will be getting more information in the upcoming days.

I have truly enjoyed my work at Summit and feel honoured and grateful to have been part of your health care team. My patients were the best part of the job.

We are OPEN!

The Government of Ontario declared a third provincial emergency. Effective today, Thursday, April 8, 2021, the province is under a stay-at-home order, which requires everyone to remain at home except for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for outdoor exercise, or for work that cannot be done remotely.

Chiropractic care is not impacted by the stay-at-home order.

We, at the clinic, continue to operate with restrictions and precautions that have been in place since the start of the pandemic including proper PPE, HEPA/air filters in the room, and routine cleaning. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these interesting and often frustrating times.

UPDATE: In light of the news of Ontario's stay-at-home order please be reassured that the clinic will remain OPEN.

We will continue to have our precautions in place (that haven't changed since we were in Stage 1) including screenings before appointments, regular cleaning of rooms and any contact surfaces, hand washing/hygiene, limited appointment availability, and mandatory masks at the clinic.

If you are experiencing any of the cold/flu-like symptoms, please refrain from coming to the clinic and stay home. Cancellation fees are waived in all cases of illness. Thanks for all your patience and cooperation!

June 8, 2020: We have officially opened! First day back and we are having a blast welcoming everyone back to the clinic. It's hard to see me smiling underneath the mask, but I'm glad to be back. Thank you everyone for all your support. (And yes, I know about the messy hair - hopefully I can get a haircut soon!)

We are currently booking chiropractic patients on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To request an appointment, please contact us at contactus@summitnaturalhealth.ca or jlau@summitnaturalhealth.ca.

June 2, 2020: Thank you again for everyone emailing and messaging about the clinic reopening. We are very excited to welcome you all back to the clinic. We are still in the process of sorting out the logistics, but here are some of the changes and policies we will be implementing:

1. Please Arrive ON TIME for your appointment - Please try to arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time. You will be requested to wait in your car or outside if you arrive too early. There is no waiting room. Please wait outside until one of our staff members lets you know it is okay to come in. We also require time to sanitize after each patient; if you arrive late, your appointment time will be shortened to fit into the designated time slot.

2. Please arrive alone - we request that you do not bring any visitors with you to your appointment. Minors can be accompanied by one adult.

3. Masks will be required - if you do not have one, a mask can be purchased from us for $2.00 (until supplies last). A cloth mask is acceptable.

4. Do not bring any extra peripherals (large bags, backpacks, purses, water bottles, etc). These are extra points of contact that our staff have to keep track of.

5. Hand hygiene - do not wear gloves to your appointment. You will be requested to remove them and wash/sanitize your hands before entering the treatment rooms.

6. Please dress appropriately for your appointment to maximize your appointment time.

7. Limited use of restroom - please try to use the washroom at home before your appointment. We apologise for the inconvenience

8. Cashless - We request contactless payment if possible, and we accept debit, Apple/Google pay, and all major credit cards. Receipts will be issued online. We apologize for the inconvenience.

9. Limited appointment times - we are planning a GRADUAL restart which means limited days and hours. Priority appointments will initially be given to those patients who had their appointments cancelled during the pandemic closure and those with urgent concerns. We are also setting up dedicated times for our more vulnerable and high risk groups (seniors and front line workers). We will try to accommodate as best as we can, but we appreciate your patience and understanding.

10. Scheduling - if at all possible, appointments will be arranged via email. Prescreening forms MUST be completed and submitted at least one hour prior to your arrival at the clinic. Have your schedule ready for rebookings. If you are not aware of your schedule, please contact us at a later time via email.

A more detailed document will be available to all our patients in the coming days. We at SNHC appreciate your cooperation in helping keep everyone safe and healthy!

Thank you to everyone that has been emailing about appointments and expressing their excitement about my return to clinic! Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding during this interesting time and I am grateful for all your support. At this time, it is anticipated that I will be back to work on June 8th, and in the coming days we are preparing the clinic to ensure the health and safety for all our patients, staff, and community. I will update this page with any new information and will be sending out more detailed information soon!

May 27, 2020: GOOD NEWS! We have been given the green light by the government and professional regulator to start resuming services. In order to get everything prepared to ensure the safety of all our patients, staff, and general public, we will likely re-open our doors in June, which also coordinates with the end of the emergency order. Please note that it will not be "business as usual" and there will be strict protocols and changes in place. Please stay tuned for all the updates! I look forward to seeing everyone soon!

UPDATE APRIL 1, 2020: As per the recommendations of the MOH and public health officials, the clinic will remain closed for all in-clinic visits until further notice. As below, I am still available online during clinic hours. Keep well and keep safe!

ANNOUNCEMENT: As per recommendation by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, "CCO recommends that all non-essential (except for emergency/acute) chiropractic services be suspended immediately."

As such, as of March 17, 2020, the clinic will be closed for all non-essential visits until the month of April and pending further directives issued by the MOH, CCO, WHO, and public health officials.

Most concerns/questions can be answered through a telephone conference, video call, or email, and I will make myself available during regular clinic hours (Monday to Thursday 10AM-7PM, Friday 10AM-1PM) to address any concerns that you may have. Please email me either jlau.dc@gmail.com or jlau@summitnaturalhealth.ca and I will accommodate as best as I can!

If you have any concerns regarding exposure to illness, or if you are exhibiting any signs of cold or flu including cough, sore throat, and/or fever, please contact Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000, which is a free provincial service, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week where they will be able to provide advice on next steps.
