Our Christmas Candlelight Service and Communion with Rev. Hawkins was a spiritually uplifting evening that helped our Fordwich Family embrace the true meaning of Christmas and brought us closer as a family. Residents assisted Rev. Hawkins with the service by lighting candles and singing as their own choir. Merry Christmas from our Home to Yours as you spend time with family and friends during this holiday season and create warm lasting memories to share.

On October 23rd from 2-3:30 p.m. we will be having our Annual Harvest Tea Social and Silent Auction Fundraiser for Residents' Council programs. Everone is welcome to join us for a cup of tea, a delicious seasonal dessert, and lively conversation with family and friends! At 3:15 p.m. we will conclude our Silent Auction by announcing the winning bidders of the fabulous items that have been generously donated.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our Strawberry Social on June 26th from 2 to 3:30 p.m. with the tea table donations going to the Huron Perth Alzheimer Society. Also at 3:30p.m. we will be announcing the winning bidders for our spring Silent Auction Residents' Council Fundraiser with those monies raised going towards activities. Come share some laughs, catch up with friends, enjoy homemade strawberry shortcake and a cup of tea while helping to raise funds for two great causes.🍓🍰☕️

We've been busy over the past couple of months getting our geraniums ready for our upcoming Plant Sale on May 15th from 1-4 p.m. (rain or shine). We started them from slips, waited for roots to grow, and lovingly potted them up. What amazing green thumbs and entrepreneurs we have at Fordwich! Great job everyone!

On April 29th we honored our dedicated and amazing volunteers at our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Activity Manager, Barb Wakeford expressed our deepest appreciation to our volunteers for their sharing their time, talents, and friendship with our Fordwich Family as they help to bring an enhanced and unique quality of care and life for our Residents. Residents' Council Chairman, Ron Malcolm provided a few words on behalf of the Residents as well as our Chief Operating Officer, Jordan, sharing his appreciation. Volunteers were presented with a gift and our Residents' Council representatives assisted Barb with drawing our door prize winners. Our Family Council Chair and co-Chair, Ty and Fay Cross were also in attendance. Thank you to Audrey Bridge for preparing our delicious lunch. After lunch Residents and volunteers enjoyed the musical styling of Glenn Skinn (thank you for the great party tunes!). We look forward to spending time with our volunteers on their next visit to our Home☺️

Congratulations and Best Wishes are extended to Brenda Browne as she starts the next exciting chapter of life--Retirement! On April 24th Residents, Staff, and friends joined Brenda for a delicious luncheon and in the afternoon residents, staff, friends, and family filled the activity room to continue the celebrations at a Come and Go party to honour Brenda. ATK Care owner and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kannampuhza and our Chief Operating Officer, Jordan Kannampuhza expressed their appreciation to Brenda for her 43 years of service, mentorship, and dedication to Fordwich Village Nursing Home. Thank you to our dietary staff for the lunch, to Audrey for the beautiful cake (Brenda's favourite--carrot), to the decorating committee (Julie and Cassandra), and to everyone who joined us in helping to make this moment for Brenda so amazing and memorable.
