What is my current read - The Proving Ground by Michael Connelly- it is part of the Lincoln Lawyer series about
An AI chat box and a teen who was encouraged to murder his ex girlfriend - a lawsuit and a lot of dirty tricks ensue as the big tech company just wants to carry on and thinks intimidation and a fat payoff will do the trick. Be afraid.

Be careful where you get your information- Byron Katy always asks- "Is that true"

Deb has always been a fan of Louise Penny since our neighbour loaned her a copy of one of the early novels. Who wouldn't love to have a quiet life in Three Pines surrounded by good friends and family. Inspector Gamache always follows the clues to solve the puzzle. She recently read the Grey Wolf and was feeling that it left her hanging. It is a great puzzle to solve and takes you to a monastery on an Island in the St Lawrence river and to Montreal. The Black Wolf is the sequel and it is a great book for the times. The author says it was written long before current events but the insight into the thinking of people who wish to recreate the world in their image - is astounding and terrifying. Read between the lines and it leaves so much room for thought. From the wildfires and the lasting effect on climate and water in the northern lakes is something I have not seen addressed openly. How close are we to destroying each other and why can't we work together for a better world. It amazes me the workings of a mind that sees hardship as an opportunity for personal gain instead of an opportunity to work together for the common good. This novel goes outside the community of Three Pines and contrasts what could be and what might be- A great read- don't miss out on this of the latest Inspector Gamache puzzles. I expect a sequel as it isn't done yet.

Another snowy day with drifting snow- A good day to sit by the fire and read a good book. My latest good read was by Michael Connelly - a Ballard Bosch novel. This one follows Rene Ballard through several cases both active and very cold. This also includes a look at the famous Black Dalia murder- I totally enjoyed it and hope you do too. The Waiting.

Start the new year with a change of attitude- based on A Course In Miracles- you will better understand what triggers your moods and feelings about different people and events. Today more than ever we need to understand and choose our actions and reactions. Understanding keeps us in control of our thoughts and doesn't let someone else confuse you with their fears and opinions. Never before in history have we been influenced by so much daily information and had to make so many decisions. Our minds are not able to process all the constant stimulation. It is time to step back and calm our thoughts and choose wisely. I choose peace today- do you? I have signed copies available and I am happy to mail you one. ACIM saved me- this simple understanding of the key concepts outlined in our book will open a door to new understanding and make the course more easily embraced. Happy New Year 2026.
