5 things to declutter in your bedroom this fall ✨️

✨️ Nightstand
These often turn into dumping grounds for things like receipts, empty medicine packs, old books, and sometimes even snack wrappers. Do a quick sweep and make room for your current books and other helpful items like ear plugs (if your husband snores like mine), sleeping masks, and hand cream.

✨️ Under the bed
This can serve as a great storage space for off-season items, but it can also end up being where things get shoved, never to be heard of again. Grab a broom or a vacuum (you’ll need one) and see if all your stashed items deserve to live there indefinitely - chances are some things can find a better home or even hit the road.

✨️ Unloved clothing
Set a timer for 20 minutes and see which items you can elect to move on - have a look at the shoulders of the clothing - if you see dust that’s a good indication that it’s time to say bye. Giving your clothes a little breathing room is not only better for the garment but also makes finding and putting away clothes much easier

✨️ Socks and underwear drawer
You’ve all heard of second tier un**es? Of course you have. You don’t want to wear them, you’ll never wear them. Let them go and send your itchy socks packing, too.

✨️ Tired linens
Unless you have some ghost costumes coming down the pipe, then it’s time to kick those underused, ripped, and stained linens to the curb. Don’t actually kick them to the curb, recycle them at the Salvation Army (feel free to ask how). Or, if you like using sheets for cleaning or painting, then send those to the proper zones.

Kids and mess, you can't really have one without the other. But that doesn't mean that you need to submit to the constant chaos in your home. In the case of toys, and most things, less is definitely more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Young children can be easily overwhelmed and having fewer toys around not only makes for easier clean up but can actually enhance the play experience. And just because you own the toys doesn't mean that kids need access to every single toy all the time. In fact, starting a toy rotation in your home can be a helpful solution to cutting down on the mess and maintaining your sanity, while at the same time helping kids stay interested in the toys they own. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once your kids are old enough to clean up their own messes they are also old enough to know about consumerism and the environmental impacts of their toys - hey, they are inheriting this world so why not get them involved so they can make informed decisions about their future? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do my kids always have tidy rooms? Definitely not. But I did invest time into creating simple systems for my kiddos rooms (labelled bins for toys and crafts, baskets for stuffies, and drawers designated for activities). My girls know that their belongings have specific homes, meaning that after an epic playtime I take comfort in knowing that humpty dumpty can be put back together again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have any hot tips on maintaining some form of order in kids' spaces? Chime in below.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Shopkeepers know that what is beautifully displayed will sell quicker than the items tucked in the recesses of their store. HOT TIP! Style your closet like a shopkeeper and you'll be much more inclined to use and wear the things you own, plus (bonus!) it also provides a visual pick-me-up.

Mothers. Moms. Mamas. What's the one thing we all wish we had a little more of? My guess is time. It feels like there's never quite enough of it. Time is such a gift in the realm of Motherhood don't you think? What would you do with the gift of time? Read? Sip a hot mug of tea? Practice yoga? Laugh with a friend? Paint? Go for a hike? Just sit still for a moment? Sounds pretty great, heh? Why not treat yourself this year? Goodness knows it's been a bit of a bumpy ride lately. Raise your glass! Or, more accurately, raise your glassware - Occasionally used glassware sets don't necessarily need to live in your "prime real estate" - aka: the easiest and most convenient spaces. So unless you are drinking martinis every night and mimosas each morning (and, heh, if you are, no judgement over here 🥂) then move that inventory to a place that allows your everyday items to breathe a bit.

Reviews like the one below always put a big smile on my face.
"Connie transformed our kitchen from the chaos of moving in to an inviting oasis of peace with everything in its place.
Her systems make sense, have longevity, and are very user friendly. Our kiddos love their snack shelf and I never knew that alphabetized spices would bring me such joy, I never waste time searching for cumin anymore.

I highly recommend Edit and Flow for any organizing you need help with!"

Creating order and making everyday tasks more enjoyable is always my number one goal when visiting a client's home. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to my clients for supporting this small business and for taking time out of your day to share your experience with others. I appreciate it!
