From Rotary Club of Gravenhurst President and GHH Committee, Tom Long:
“Rotarian Bob Jacob is such as regular guest at our club meetings that it’s easy to forget that he has not yet joined our club. Bob is always there ready to offer insight and support to many of our clubs fundraising events including his $100,000.00 donation to the Gravenhurst Health Hub. The new primary health care model that the Gravenhurst Health Hub will create brings health care back home to our community to ensure local access to everyone in our community.
Having local primary health services for our permanent residents will work to ensure preventative and follow-up health care services are provided. Bob understands this and we are grateful for his support of the GHH.

A percentage of the 6000 permanent residents currently without local primary health care services will have an undiagnosed or underlying health issue. We know that early diagnosis and follow-up treatment is key to keeping our residents healthy and out of the hospital. That will be the magic of the Gravenhurst Health Hub.

Some of the permanent members of our community may find that after a visit to the ER in Bracebridge that further advanced medical treatment will be needed at the hospital.

This is where Bob has stepped in again. Not only does he recognize the need for primary health care but Bob also recognizes the need for the hospital to have the services in place to treat members of our community.

Bob Jacob has donated $2,000,000.00 to the Bracebridge Hospital Foundation.

On Friday April 10th starting at 2:30pm, Bob will be recognised at a formal ceremony in his honor. Bobs name will be permanently inscribed at the Hospital Entranceway to acknowledge his major donation. The ceremony runs until 3:15pm. Plans have been made to move the ceremony inside in the event that the weather does not cooperate.”
