Another winter day, another photo confirming why I want my drivers make the call if it’s safe to drive or not.

I left home 10 minutes ago. Schools are closed, so I go out expecting the worst.

Outside, it’s just a couple flurries. Just another storm warning in Nova Scotia, right?

Now I can’t see out the windshield, and I’ll be digging out my car before my client finishes their appointment.

If it’s safe, we’ll be there.

The VAC/Medavie Blue Cross approval system is burdensome.

There, I said it.

It’s a burden for veterans to try and navigate a system where even when they can talk to a real person, that person probably won’t have all the answers.

It’s a burden to ask for help only to *hope* the person you talk to knows who to send you to.

It’s a burden when response times to queries are measured in weeks… for requests for support in a few days.

No wonder so many vets give up.
No wonder so many vets are jaded.
No wonder so many vets feel forgotten.

I haven’t forgotten.

And I won’t leave you hanging while we wait for a system that keeps failing us.

Call me.
Even last minute.

Always worth stopping in at CannaConnect wherever I am. I didn’t realize for a long time how nice their veteran lounges are.

CannaConnect Lower Sackville puts on a great breakfast. The parking lot was packed!

Beautiful day, if you like snow. Empty parking lots and mostly empty roads definitely help.

As promised, if your appointment is happening we’ll be out trying to get you. Cancellations only happen when a driver can’t get you there safely.

Until then, I’m glad I brought a toque.
