A little Holiday throwback... ❄️✨️⁠

This year, Loyobo is celebrating it's 8th anniversary. So it only felt natural to go through the archives to dig out some oldies. ⁠

So many faces and SO many memories. It is truly incredible to think about what this community has experienced since it's inception in 2017. ⁠

A little baby Courtney - with very little entrepreneurial experience - set out to create a different kind of fitness community. Once based in empowering women and building a space where they felt free to be themselves (and of course - love their bodies). ⁠

Little did she know what this journey had in store.... ⁠

Opening her own brick & mortar studio. Growing to a team of 11 staff and hundreds of members. An in-studio engagement. Then, a global pandemic. Launching a hybrid studio and online classes with 48 hours notice. My best friend and business partner walking away. A COVID wedding. Closing the studio and moving off-grid to take Loyobo fully online. Getting divorced. Moving to Owen Sound and taking a step back, to make Loyobo a part-time commitment.⁠

And now - here we are. ⁠

I hardly recognize the girl who started this journey and at the same time, I am so thankful that she chose to take the leap and believed in herself enough to do it. ⁠

But most of all - I am so deeply grateful for everyone who has been part of this adventure. To the amazing staff members and instructors, to every member and client who has trusted us (and me!) to be a part of their life, to every follower on social media, my super hero mentors, and everyone in between. ⁠

Thank you. ⁠

Thank you for 8 years. ⁠

I can't wait to see what 2026 has to offer. ⁠

Inspired by and my friend .

Here are some highlights alongside some lowlights from 2025. I think it is really important to show both on social media - especially so that we avoid comparing ourselves to what we see online that may not be real.

Overall, 2025 was a good year - and that feels like a huge thing to admit because 2020-2024 were incredibly rough.

I feel like I have grown, I have had a lot of joy this year, and am happy with how life is going. Of course - there are things I want to work on and improve - but I hope that 2026 continues to move in the right direction.

Thank you to everyone who has been here this year and who has let me be a part of their journey. And thank you for being a part of mine!

Society (and a lot of people on the internet) have had a lot to say about my body recently.

But the truth is - I spent decades chasing that smaller body.

My life revolved around my weight and what I looked like.
I constantly tore myself apart in the mirror.

I would read every label. There was a long list of things I wasn't "allowed" to eat. Food caused me so much stress.

And - even in that smaller body, I still didn't feel good enough. I still craved external validation and felt like my worth was dependent on me being seen as desirable.

My body looks different now. And my life does too.

And honestly? It is what is best for me right now. I feel happy and healthy.

Will my body change again someday? Maybe.

But for right now, it is more than enough for me. I love her and I get to do what I love every day - helping women move their bodies and feel more confident.

So f@ck what society tells you.

You get to write your own rules when it comes to your body.

Learning how to love your body doesn't start with figuring out how to love the way your body looks.

It starts with understanding that your body is worthy of respect - regardless of what it looks like.

It is about seeing your worth and believing in it. Knowing that it is not determined by your size or how much you weigh.

In my experience, once you have those things... you can begin to experience joy in your body. And a safety that brings with it feeling cute. Feeling desirable. Feeling at home and sexy in your skin.

Being able to have FUN and truly love the skin that you are in.

This is the journey that I love to take my clients on and what we do when we work together. It isn't just about looking a certain way or feeling cute - it is about changing the way that you see yourself forever.

Because your body is SO good and so worthy of love, care, and respect.

So many of us are taught that exercise is only worth it if it is "hard".

It has to make you sweaty.
If you are doing it right, you are supposed to feel sore.

And while there is of course benefit to physically challenging yourself, movement can also feel fun!

The Loyobo FIT Way of Life

There are 8 rules that guide the Loyobo FIT way of life and are reflected in everything that we do. They represent our values and ethics, but also our promise to you - our members and fitness family.

We want to do fitness differently. Here's how.
