On days that feel emotionally full, showing up still is the most important thing.

Care doesn’t always look romantic…sometimes it looks quiet and unseen. But oftentimes this is the most important care

February marks Black History Month — a time to reflect on history, identity, resilience, and the ongoing impact of systems on individual and collective well-being.

In mental health spaces, this reflection also invites us to consider access, representation, cultural context, and the importance of listening to lived experience.

We acknowledge Black history as an essential part of present-day conversations about care, equity, and healing.

The word “trigger” is often used today to describe anything uncomfortable or upsetting.

In clinical contexts, it has a more specific meaning.

A trigger refers to a stimulus that activates the nervous system into a survival response, often automatically and without conscious choice.

It is NOT THE SAME as everyday emotional discomfort, disagreement, or stress.

Understanding this distinction helps reduce mislabeling, self-blame, and confusion about emotional reactions — especially for those with trauma histories or heightened nervous system sensitivity.

Language matters. Precision helps us understand ourselves with more clarity and less judgment. 💙💛

Parenting asks so much of us emotionally, mentally, and physically.

On Parent Mental Health Day, we want to pause and acknowledge how heavy that can feel, especially when you’re carrying it quietly. 💛

If today feels like a lot, you’re not alone and you don’t have to hold it all by yourself.

Winter weather can add stress, risk, and disruption especially when roads are icy or conditions change quickly.

Therapy doesn’t need to stop because of snow or cold.

When getting out feels difficult or unsafe, virtual sessions allow care to continue from the comfort of home.

Stay safe and enjoy this snowy weather 💙

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day… a reminder of the importance of making space for honest conversations about mental health.

Talking doesn’t fix everything, but it can be a meaningful first step. Whether it’s with a friend, family member, or support professional, your experiences matter. 💙
