What a week for our Culinary Team! ‍✨

From exploring new ideas and innovations at the Show to ending the week right where we love to be - alongside Food Service Managers and their kitchen teams in long-term care homes.

Our team was on-site providing mentorship, hands-on support, and practical training that strengthens collaboration, improves communication, and celebrates the incredible expertise already within each home’s food service department.

When culinary teams feel supported and connected, it shows in the kitchen and on the plates of the residents they serve. 🍽️

Ever wonder where Orange Lily Group got the name? 🧡🌼

The Orange Lily Groups comes from the orange lily flower, a symbol of love, devotion, and motherhood — inspired by a photograph Maria captured of her late mother’s garden, where orange lilies continued to bloom as part of her legacy. The image remains a meaningful reminder of the importance of caring for others. Maria’s career was shaped by exceptional long-term care dietitians whose leadership, courage, and commitment to seniors instilled in her the belief that clinical excellence must be paired with compassion and innovation. Their mentorship laid the foundation for an organization grounded in dignity and meaningful change. At its heart, Orange Lily Group believes in the power of food not only to nourish, but to honour identity, preserve culture, foster belonging, and remind us of the comforts of home.

On February 19th, our Orange Lily Group team of dietitians and culinary consultants, in collaboration with The Giving Garden Project, proudly hosted our first Practical Nutrition and Dining Leadership Workshop. Local Long-Term Care leaders joined us to learn, share ideas, and explore innovative strategies to elevate the dining experience for the residents we care for every day!

A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported us! We truly value your engagement and collaboration. We look forward to continuing to grow and learn together!

This journey of the past five years is something I will always cherish, not just for the humbling lessons learned, but for the meaningful connections and wonderful friendships that have come from it. Our community of dedicated, passionate, and deeply caring Registered Dietitians and Client Partners inspires me every single day to show up with my very best. Because I believe that love is always worth working hard for.

Wishing a very happy 5-year anniversary. Here’s to many more years of outstanding nutrition care for our seniors and to continuing to write this story together. THANK YOU to everyone who joined our 5th anniversary celebration dinner and to everyone who shared beautiful video messages - spending time with all of you meant the world to me! Thank you to Jane Oulton BHEc for sending us a spectacular bouquet of flowers that brightened up our celebration! And a very big thank you to our super creative and hard working core leadership team, this day wouldn't have been possible without all of you - 🎉 .
