I want to thank all my patients, both present and past, for placing their trust in me to provide their dentistry. it is truly humbling to be entrusted with this responsibility. It is bittersweet to retire and no longer have the daily personal contact with patients and team members, but I know all is ”in good hands“ with Dr Jayde.
I am enjoying retirement, staying busy and feeling healthier now. Thank you for the years of support. Keep on smiling 😀

We would like to thank the students from St. Mary Catholic High School robotics team and their mentor Matt Alderson for fabricating and donating face shields to our office, as well other medical offices. They have used their ingenuity and resources to fabricate these shields, showing their concern and commitment to their community. Way to go Makeshift Robotics team!!

Dear Patients,

Life has been anything but normal this spring and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health. We are happy to inform you that we are now able to once again provide dental care for you and your family. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.
Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and in order to keep us all protected during this pandemic and in the future, we have updated our protocols. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be a little different.
• We will ask some screening questions before your appointment and you’ll be asked those same questions again when you’re in the office.
• You may be asked to wait outside our office or in your car and call us when you arrive and then wait for a call back to let you know when you can enter the office with your own face mask on.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the clinic. There are more dispensers around the office for you to use as needed.
• Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect.
• Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also mean currently, we cannot have other patients or people waiting in our reception area.
• You may be surprised that we’re wearing more protective gear – such as masks, face shields, gowns – than we normally do during your visit.
Rest assured, all these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team.
We look forward to seeing you again. If you have any questions, please let us know. To make an appointment, call our office at 905-689-9090 or email us at desponddental@gmail.com
Thank you for patience and loyalty throughout this ordeal. We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back!

Sincerely,
Dr. Frank Despond and Team

Dear Patients,
We hope this finds you all well and safe. We are currently entering the 12th week of closures, but behind the scenes we have been working diligently to maintain our strictest standards of infection prevention and controls. Protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff and ensuring we are continuing to provide exceptional dental care to support our patients in need, is our priority. You will notice many new changes to our procedures and protocols as we continue to secure the appropriate safety and protective equipment as outlined by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. We have recently learned that the Chief Medical Officer of Health will be allowing all Healthcare providers to resume non-essential services. When we receive the go ahead from the Ministry and we are able to acquire all the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), we will be in touch with you to book your appointment. A detailed outline will be forwarded to help you prepare for your visit. The following is a brief look at some of the new rules that will be implemented. Please see attached picture.

Until then, we hope you’ll enjoy the warmer weather and we all look forward to seeing one another again soon.

Warmly, Dr. Frank Despond and Team

To Our Friends /Patients:

We are experiencing unprecedented and challenging times. With rapidly changing circumstances and recommendations coming at us daily, we suggest consulting legitimate sources of health information such as the following: Ministry of Health, World Health Organization, Centre for Disease Control, and locally our Public Health Departments.
Our services at our dental clinic are considered essential by the Ministry of Health and so we are obligated to remain open to provide for your dental care. We have always strived to provide a highly disinfected environment that is safe for our patients, and that has not changed in light of this new virus. The infection control protocols we have in place (high heat sterilization of instruments, masks, gloves, eyewear, hand washing and alcohol hand sanitization) eliminate the potential spread of any infectious diseases (including COVID-19). We currently have no staff members with symptoms or have travelled to any hot spots, so we will remain open until that status changes.
However, we are not equipped with high level infection equipment and cannot treat patients with active virus symptoms. Consequently, we are asking that:
1) If you or any family members have flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing) to stay home and contact our office to postpone your appointment.
2) Any patients or family members who have travelled to high risk global locations (Europe, China, Iran, Korea) are also asked to self isolate , and so should contact us to postpone their appointment for at least 14 days.
3) Any patients travelling over March break are also asked to reschedule to allow for a two week delay as well.
4) Please use hand sanitizer upon entering our clinic.

Finally, we wish you all good health and hope that we can navigate these uncertain times quickly and successfully.

Parents please talk to your children about va**ng and e-cigarettes. They are not a safe healthy alternative to smoking. There is no smoke but there is still ni****ne and carcinogens. The use by teen population has doubled in the last year.

Health Canada has launched a multi-phase campaign to tackle what it sees as an increasing problem among young people.
