The Hamilton branch of the United Nations Association in Canada focuses on human rights, peace issues, environmental concerns and global interests to raise the awareness of the United Nations in our community. The 110 members of the United Nations Association in Canada who reside within a thirty mile (approximately 46 km) radius of the Hamilton City Hall also qualify as members of the Hamilton and
District Branch (often referred to simply as the "Hamilton Branch"). Our branch was founded 1946, a year after the formation of the United Nations in 1945, which was also the year that UNA-Canada was formed. The Hamilton branch of the United Nations Association in Canada has been successful in partnering with Affiliated Organizations that focus on human rights, peace issues, environmental concerns and global interests to raise the awareness of the United Nations in our community.
