๐ŸŒŸ Day 5 of our 30 Days of Children's Grief Series! ๐ŸŒŸ

When it comes to grief, early support matters. ๐Ÿ’™

Children who receive understanding and care soon after a loss are better able to process their emotions, build healthy coping tools, and feel less alone in their experience.

Grief doesnโ€™t go away on its own โ€” but with early, compassionate support, children can learn that their feelings are valid and that healing is possible.

Letโ€™s keep creating spaces where children can talk, ask questions, and be met with empathy.

This is a day to both remember babies who have died, and to reach out to those in your orbit who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. It's also a timely day to share this podcast interview I participated in addressing the experience of siblings following a pregnancy loss.

I'm always honoured to be participate in podcast interviews, but this one felt extra special, as it not only addressed the experience of grieving siblings but actually included their voices and perspectives in the interview.

I hope you check it out, as well as the other episodes of Stillbirth Happens.

โ˜€๏ธ Introducing Brighter Tomorrow's โ€“ Coming This Fall ๐Ÿ’›

Together with Bereaved Families of Ontario Southwest Region, St. Josephโ€™s Hospice London, and VON Middlesex-Elgin, weโ€™re launching a support group this fall for children who've experienced the death of someone close to them.

Families are invited to share their interest by completing our Expression of Interest form here: https://forms.gle/WRathQ5j8pE1mUrJ9

Please note: Completing the form does not guarantee registration. Rather, it helps us better understand community needs, determine in-demand age groups, and plan next steps for the program.

As space will be limited, intake will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and others will be notified and placed on a waitlist for future opportunities.

If you have questions, please contact Elizabeth at elizabeth@bfosw.ca.
