👋🏽 I’m back after taking a week off work!⁣

Who else just can’t wait for their time to come so they can relax? 🙋🏽‍♀️ ⁣

Who else also feels the need to do ALL the things once their vacation time is here? 🙋🏽‍♀️ ⁣

Last week was a mix of going on fun adventures (hello ) catching up with friends, doing some of the things I’ve put off for a while and… doing NOTHING at all. ⁣

The last one ☝🏾 was probably the hardest to do because we’re so used to functioning in a “go, go, go” state all the time but my nervous system is very grateful. ⁣

As the world slowly reopens, I feel like there is a lot more stimulation than we’ve been used to for a while. Take the time you need to quiet down and , friends!

This year turned out to be so different than I imagined... and I’m not just talking about the pandemic. ⁣

For all the solopreneurs out there, you know that this journey is not only full of ups and downs, but it can be lonely. ⁣

I thought that’s how it had to be but I was wrong. ⁣

In May, I found Gieselle Allen's community for WOC entrepreneurs and I can’t believe how much it changed my life. ⁣

There are so many things I needed and never realized I did until I joined this group and one of them is COMMUNITY. ⁣

Suddenly, I started to feel less alone not just as an entrepreneur but also as a WOC. ⁣

Then I met my badass biz partner Valeria Hernández and Together Thriving was born. ⁣

Here’s what I’ve learned this year as a WOC: ⁣

There is so much power in being in community. ⁣

There is so much healing that happens when we learn from one another. ⁣

WHAT’S YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SELF-CONFIDENCE? 💫⁣

My old strategy to building self- confidence was “fake it till you make it”. And guess what? It didn’t work, or at least it didn’t take me very far. ⁣

I would continuously doubt myself even when others would tell me that I came across as confident. Apparently I was faking it very well and yet this method never brought the feeling of self-confidence I was looking for. ⁣

No amount of goal-setting or power-posing were helping and I self-declared that I just wasn’t the confident type. ⁣

I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to be the confident type to become confident! Once I understood the root of my self-doubt, I didn’t need to fake it anymore and big things started to happen. Knowledge is power and I’m so ready to share with you what I know when it comes to self-confidence! ⁣

GOING FROM HOLDING YOURSELF BACK TO BECOMING AN ACTION-TAKER 💫

In May, I hosted a challenge to shake off the quarantine funk and get back into a groove.

It was my first time really putting myself in front of the camera and sharing mindset tips. I loved it so much that it inspired the creation of my new free PDF guide “5 Steps to Go from Holding Yourself Back to Becoming a Bold Action-Taker” which I’m so excited to share with you all!

This guide focuses on the 5-step process that has helped me get out of my way and realize that I DO have the power to create the change I desire. I have applied these steps in different areas of my life (including career, finances, health and housing) and it all starts with one key shift.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO FIT OUT 💫 ⁣

I learned about the concept of fitting out at - celebrating and embracing what makes you different from others rather than go against your natural instinct or intuitive nudges. ⁣

On some level, we all try to fit in because as humans we desire love and a sense of belonging, and fear rejection from others (especially our loved ones). Sometimes we hold ourselves back from following our natural instinct because we fear rejection from others. We fear not belonging anymore. ⁣

Here is what you need to know - each of us view the world through our own filters (created by our subconscious mind to identify and protect us from anything that might cause us harm). When you try something new (whether it’s a new diet, look, career path etc), what might seem exciting through your filter might be scary to others when viewed through their filter. Their resistance to your new venture is likely worry because they might not know much about it. ⁣

I’ve been vegan for almost 5 years now. I did a lot of research before deciding that it was the right path for me. When I started sharing my decision with others, I received comments of concerns and sometimes disapproval but I chose to stick to my decision because I knew it was right for me. It gave me the opportunity to educate others, and not only did people come around to my decision but many loved ones decided to try incorporating more plant-based meals in their diet and have loved it. I just had to lead the way. ⁣

If you have a nudge, follow it. Don’t be afraid to pave a new path and impact those around you ✨

WE ARE ALL BEGINNERS 💫 ⁣

I was reminded of this while gardening this weekend. I’m a newbie when it comes to gardening. I started my first herb garden last year and this year I decided to try growing a few veggies.⁣

I got in my head several times over the weekend - concerned that I didn’t know what I was doing or worried that I was doing more harm than good to my seedlings. ⁣

It’s okay to be a beginner and it’s okay not to know exactly what you are doing. Don’t let the doubt stop you. You’ll probably realize that you actually know more than you think. So if you’ve been holding back from trying something new because it’s scary to be beginner, I’m here to remind that we are beginners. We are here to learn and grow 🌱

Create a life that makes you feel healthy and happy from the inside out ☀️ ⁣

If you’re not sure where to begin, start by spending some time alone and connect with nature. Slow down. Give yourself the space to reflect and daydream about what you desire. ⁣

From there - set your goals, get clear on your priorities, start taking action and always keep your vision in mind.⁣

If you get stuck, ask for help. Find resources to increase your knowledge. Reach out to a friend who had overcome a similar challenge. Hire a mentor/coach who can help you with what is holding you back and keep you accountable. ⁣

Make your health and life a priority and watch the ripple effect you create around you 💫
