Honouring the dark and welcoming the light.
December 21. The longest night of the year. This time of year we take time to honour the darkness because all life comes from the dark and end in darkness. The dark gives us time for reflection and inspiration, an opportunity for growth and rest. Without darkness, there is no light.
We can consider ways to honour the darkest parts of us that give us room for growth.
* Sit in the dark.
* Intentionally light a candle to welcome the light into your space.
* Have a bonfire
* Journal your thoughts on the
* Mimicking a hibernating bear by resting: napping, leisurely walks, eating a nourishing meal
Getting a Reiki session around the winter solstice can help welcome in light and shed the dark, can help encourage feelings of rest, can help us with times of reflection, can help us change our perspective around the dark.
