We are now counting down to Spin the Lakes Cycling Tour! To ensure you have a fantastic and smooth ride, Algonquin Outfitters has five essential tips to get you ready for the day:
1. Check Out the Course on the Strava App:
If you haven’t already, take a look at the course on the Strava App. It’s a great tool to familiarize yourself with the route and prepare for the ride. If you don’t have Strava, give it a try!
2. Give Your Bike a Good Once Over:
Before heading out, make sure your bike is in top condition. Check that your seat is adjusted properly, your tires are inflated to the correct PSI, and your drivetrain is clean and ready to go. Avoid the frustration of a breakdown during the ride.
3. Remember to Hydrate:
Hydration is key! Ensure you’re drinking plenty of water not just during the ride, but in the days leading up to the event. Proper hydration before, during, and after the ride is essential for your performance and well-being.
4. Wear Sunscreen:
Protect your skin from the sun’s rays by applying sunscreen before you head out. It’s easy to forget, but crucial for your comfort and health.
5. Most Importantly – Have Fun and Meet New Friends:
Spin the Lakes attracts riders from all over. Take the opportunity to meet new people at rest stops, on the road, and at the post-ride celebration. Enjoy the ride and the amazing community spirit!
