At Foundry Kamloops, Peer Support means connecting with someone who gets it. Peer support will be available not just for our youth but for family caregivers as well. Our trained peer supporters are people with lived experience who offer understanding, empathy, and non-judgmental support to youth and caregivers navigating their own journeys.

Whether you’re dealing with stress, struggling at school, feeling overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, peer support is a safe space to feel heard, validated, and not alone.

As we continue building Foundry Kamloops, you can help bring this service to life. Every donation to our Capital Campaign brings us closer to opening our doors and creating a welcoming, youth-friendly hub for mental health, wellness, and community connection.

Wellness Wednesday Tip!

Even when the temperatures drop, getting outside can boost your mood, clear your mind, and help you feel more grounded. Whether it’s a quick walk, a snowy stroll, or tobogganing, fresh air is good for your mental health.

Winter can be long, but movement, laughter, and time outdoors can make it feel a little brighter.

And as we work toward opening Foundry Kamloops, we’re committed to creating a space where youth can access the tools and support they need. If you’d like to help us get there, consider donating to our Capital Campaign. Every contribution makes a difference for local youth.

Lisa Johannesen, Foundry Kamloops Manager, shares the challenges local youth and their caregivers often face navigating fragmented mental health systems and the urgent need for a space like Foundry Kamloops—where young people and families can access support without barriers, shame, or long waitlists.

Lisa emphasizes this isn’t just a health project—it’s a community commitment to showing up for youth in meaningful, lasting ways.

"We are building a place where youth and families can walk in and know they’re not alone. Foundry Kamloops is about access, inclusion, and dignity.”

Foundry Kamloops is in the final stages of a $4.5 million capital campaign—and we’re now less than $1 million away from reaching our goal. Every donation brings us closer to opening the doors and providing hope and wraparound care to youth aged 12–24.

Behind the Scenes: Foundry Kamloops Media Walkthrough!

Last Friday, we welcomed local media, project partners, and advisory committee members into the future home of Foundry Kamloops for an exclusive construction walkthrough!

Members from our Youth Advisory Committee, Family Advisory Committee, and Foundry Kamloops staff stepped in front of the cameras to share their excitement, hopes, and personal perspectives on why Foundry Kamloops matters for our community.

We were also joined by A&T Project Development and Ron Hart Architecture, whose expertise and dedication are helping turn this vision into reality. We walked through the site to showcase the incredible progress already underway, from framing to layout to the emerging spaces where youth will soon access integrated, compassionate care.

Construction is underway, and Foundry Kamloops is taking shape! Help us reach our goal—less than $1M to go! Donate by visiting interiorcommunityservices.bc.ca/fundraising or email fundraising@interiorcommunityservices.bc.ca.

Foundry Floor Plan: Ep. 3 – Meeting of the Rivers

Did you know the Foundry Kamloops floor plan was shaped by local youth and families? Our Youth Advisory Committee and Family Advisory Committee played a key role in designing a space that feels safe, welcoming, and rooted in community.

One meaningful design element is the hallway layout which was inspired by the meeting of the rivers here in Kamloops. Just like the rivers flow together, this space is meant to bring people together: youth, families, caregivers, and service providers.

This space isn’t just being built for youth — it’s being built with them.

We are currently fundraising to bring this vision to life through our Foundry Kamloops Capital Campaign. Every donation helps support local youth aged 12–24 with mental health care, peer support, primary care, and more.
