Having a calming phrase like:
‘❤️Mama loves you, you are safe, I’ll see you in the morning’
OR
A song that is short and calming🎶

However you help your baby fall asleep, these auditory cues will help your baby know what comes next…SLEEP💤

⭐️How our babies fall asleep at bedtime is how your baby will need/want to fall back to sleep throughout the night ⭐️

💥Choose how you want to respond and be consistent with your response💥

Your baby is learning every moment and that includes sleep.

➡️When I support a family, I talk a lot about cause and effect. The nice and amazing part is that if you are needing to change your response because it’s not working for your family anymore- we can do that!!
(I usually suggest steps moving through the change because change is uncomfortable!)

Let’s figure out which one will work for you!

⭐️OPTION ONE-LATER BEDTIME = general rule is that babies need 12-13 hours of daytime and 11-12 hours of nighttime SO if you baby goes to sleep at 6:30, a 5:30 wake up would be 11hrs!

⭐️OPTION TWO- SHORTEN NAPS= I know this sounds crazy… but wouldn’t you rather have your baby sleeping better during nighttime rather than the day?!?!

⭐️OPTION THREE-LENGTHENING WAKE WINDOWS- this ties in with the first 2 options. You want your baby to be sleepy in order to fall asleep so you’ll want to build that sleep pressure🤯

⭐️OPTION FOUR- PRETEND THEY SLEPT LATER- this is for the older babies who can tolerate being awake a bit longer throughout the day. If your baby wake at 5:30, pretend it was 6 and have the first nap at 8 instead of 7:30! It may take a few days, but it works!
