🎗️ Physical activity and cancer

Exercise plays a meaningful role in cancer care and survivorship.
Evidence shows that regular physical activity can:

• influence tumor metabolism and proliferation
• reduce fatigue and improve quality of life
• lower all-cause mortality in several cancers
• support physical and mental health during and after treatment

Current guidelines recommend combining aerobic and strength training, adapted to each individual and, when possible, supervised.

Movement matters — for wellbeing, recovery, and long-term health.

🏃‍♂️ Do running clubs make runners faster?

Data suggest that runners in clubs are generally faster than those who train alone — across ages and levels.

Not magic. Structure, coaching, motivation, and accountability.

⚠️ Association, not causation. Still, clubs add real value.

Why Don’t Rift Valley Runners Strength Train?

Kenya and Ethiopia keep producing some of the world’s fastest distance runners—yet you won’t find many of them in a gym doing heavy squats or deadlifts. So where does their “strength” come from?

In this article, Waldo breaks down how drills like A-skips, bounding, and other classic running exercises can function as plyometrics, driving meaningful neuromuscular adaptations that support running economy and performance—and why our idea of “science-based strength” can be shaped by cultural and environmental bias.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you need heavy lifting to get faster (or how to get powerful without a barbell), this one’s for you.

💡 Everything you need to know about creatine — finally explained.

Despite hundreds of peer-reviewed studies, creatine remains surrounded by myths: water retention, kidney damage, hair loss, cancer… you name it.

⚠️ Spoiler: None of these claims are backed by solid science. Creatine is one of the safest and most researched supplements out there.

🧠 It even shows beneficial effects on brain health, particularly in conditions involving stress, depression, sleep deprivation, or traumatic brain injury.

👵 It’s also useful for older adults, helping reduce sarcopenia and supporting bone density.

🏃‍♀️ And no — creatine is not just for men or bodybuilders. It can support women, endurance athletes, and trail runners — especially in specific training contexts.

📊 In these carousels, we answer your most frequently asked questions — with no hype or marketing fluff.
