Life’s Journey

Namaste Yogis and Yoginis

I would like to share with you a bit of my journey to yoga and self healing.

In 2017 I was in a car accident that left me with pain and a long journey to recovery. I ended up with soft tissue and nerve damage in the right side of my body. For a year I went to physio weekly and other treatments to recover, but I was finding that it was not enough. If I was going to continue my healing, I had to take it in my own hands.

I had been practicing yoga regularly before the accident so I knew that keeping a daily yoga practice would help me, but at that time I still didn't understand the vast long-term impact it would have on me. Before the accident I had strong Vinyasa and Ashtanga practice but after the accident it really effected the level of my practice, as I had decreased mobility and had to move slowly and mindfully. Nevertheless, I was finding that my daily yoga practice was helping me recover not only physically, but mentally and bringing me back to a sense of balance.
