At this point, half my job is podiatry, the other half is locating disappearing pens.

Some days my brain feels like 47 tabs open at once… and somehow the simplest things slip through 🙃

Like reading a patient’s name… walking away… and p**f — it’s gone.
Cue the walk of shame back to the office to check it again. Every. Single. Day.
It's not a memory problem. It's a bandwidth problem.
This kind of cognitive overload is called attention residue—your brain is still processing the last task while you've already moved on to the next. Healthcare environments are basically designed to trigger it constantly.
