What a great way to end the week! We are excited to have MP Jessica Fancy MP coming to the Gala to meet and greet and say a few words at our Gala on May 8th.
Born and raised on a farm in Caledonia, Queens County, she has deep roots in the region she now represents. She spent more than 20 years as an educator, including as a teacher at Forest Heights Community School in Chester Basin, and holds two Master of Education degrees from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. She was also named a Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies for her thesis on rural education outcomes and policy gaps.
Before entering politics, Jessica was a community leader, known locally for her work as Chair on the Board of the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, youth sports coaching, and extensive volunteer involvement across the region.
Elected in 2025 with nearly 55% of the vote, she brings a strong community-first perspective to Ottawa. She currently serves on the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs (PROC) and the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities (TRAN).
