What a great way to end the week! We are excited to have MP Jessica Fancy MP coming to the Gala to meet and greet and say a few words at our Gala on May 8th.

She spent more than 20 years as an educator, including as a teacher at Forest Heights Community School in Chester Basin, and holds two Master of Education degrees from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. She was also named a Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies for her thesis on rural education outcomes and policy gaps.

Before entering politics, Jessica was a community leader, known locally for her work as Chair on the Board of the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, youth sports coaching, and extensive volunteer involvement across the region.

We are thrilled to have the Region of Queen's Municipality Mayor Scott Christian say a few words of support at our Art of Resilience Gala. "As Mayor of the Region of Queens Municipality, Scott Christian has been inspired to see the growth of the South Shore Chronic Pain Association. What started as a passionate conversation and plea for support from the groups founder, Janice, has grown into a remarkable group doing very important. Scott has seen firsthand the impact this organization has had in supporting individuals and families across the South Shore. His continued advocacy for the groups work reflects a commitment to strengthening community, raising awareness, and ensuring those living with persistent pain have a voice and a pathway to meaningful support."
