✈️ Stories That Took Flight

In celebration of National Aviation Day on February 23, residents shared amazing aviation stories: Ann, a former Air Canada flight attendant; Ross, who built and piloted three planes; Lavoynne, proud mother of an Air Canada pilot; and a resident whose daughter Wendy, is still flying internationally with Air Canada after 47 years.

Today we were delighted to begin our new painting class at Longworth with Donna Thacker as our instructor. She created a warm, welcoming atmosphere and helped everyone feel comfortable and inspired as we picked up our brushes for a wonderful first session.

Last weeks Talent Show was nothing short of amazing! 🌟

From beautiful piano performances to heartfelt signing, moving poetry and captivating storytelling.. our community is truly filled with incredible talent!

Thank you to everyone who performed, supported, cheered and joined us for such a special evening! Events like this remind us how vibrant, creative, and connected life at Longworth truly is.

Olympic Competition Day at Longworth was a big success! Residents showed their competitive spirit in events like Axe Throwing, Bean Bag Toss, and Hockey. Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded, making it a fun-filled day of teamwork and laughter. 🥇🥈🥉

We were honoured to welcome the Alzheimer Society to Longworth this week for an informative and inspiring session on building Dementia-Friendly Communities. 💜

Our residents & families had the opportunity to learn more about understanding dementia, reducing stigma, and creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. At Longworth Retirement, we are committed to fostering compassion, awareness, and meaningful connection within our home and beyond.
