There is a platform for all citizens of Canada to offer input on the Federal Budget prior to it being read in Parliament. This gives Massage Therapist's across Canada, as well as their patients, and any Canadian, the opportunity to express their desire to change the HST status as it applies to RMT services/sessions/treatments.

Based on interactions with the Government more recently since the previous election, there is a possibility that our request is going to be represented in this spring's Federal Budget. If this is the case, it would be advantageous to have a larger number of people taking the Government's pre-budget Questionnaire on their website prior to the deadline of February 10, 2023.

The questionnaire will take about five minutes to answer and will be available until February 10, 2023. You can also upload a file with more specific information using the "send formal submission" button.

Come learn Kinesiology Taping in a non-branded session setting, in one day. This means that we will focus on the collective theoretical works behind the application and use of these types of tapes for every-day help, to injury recovery needs. We will delve into the possible reasons, listed by several of the brands, for why this tape may work, and dispel some of the ideas that are not backed by research, or the decades it has been around.

This course is done in one day, and covers everything you'll ever need to be able to use Kinesiology Tape in your practice right away, and in ways that matches the "levels" many courses offer. This is accomplished by first by removing the typical re-hash of learning what you did in school. If you want to re-learn kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, treatments, and/or pathology; you can do so with personal time ahead of the course. At the course you'll learn about what you came for: Kinesiology Taping.

With this session all participants will receive a starter kit for taping, including kinesiology tape and proper scissors.

A lot of people think, to look at, the long contracts are scary, but nothing could be further from the truth it is the short ones that are the scariest, and I'll tell you why:

The contract you have, whether you are the contractor or the sub-contractor, is your living document that defines how your working relationship will be. Anything that arises throughout your professional relationship should be able to be referenced back to your contract, and If not the contract, some form of policy book. Wuthout it; too much is left in the air.

The more involved, and comprehensive, the contract is; the better your professional relationship is going to be because most everything is knowing ahead of time for how to handle it. Or what will occur in certain situations.

Who's responsible for cleaning? It's in the contract.

Who is responsible for collecting money primarily? It's in the contract.

Will there be a representation on the web page? It's in the contract.

What happens when the professional relationship comes to an end? It's in the contract.

The more comprehensive the contract, the less headaches there will be.

You're the only person who can believe in yourself.

Sure, others can believe in you, from the outside world. But no one else can believe in you from inside, except for you.

That's it! No big speech just believe in your damn self, each and every day you wake up.

RMT's, manual therapists, want to get to the root of your patient's presented issues? Be "Sherlock Holmes".

Perform your full assessment(Ax) at the beginning, and partial (because you have your initial Ax) every single time. It is impossible to help your patient if you do not hear them.

Listen to their words.

The patient is the single greatest source for the health history. They know more than they realize. Ask the probing questions, critically. Follow up with relevant inquiries as reation to what they have told you. Get what you need. But also learn to avoid the "rabbit holes". The information that is of no help, medically, to you.

Listen to their body.

Perform your Orthopaedic Tests. Be diligent. Do NOT perform tests to prove yourself right, do tests to try and prove yourself wrong. Think they have Carpal Tunnel? Try and prove it is TOS, or tendinitis, or Trigger Point referrals, or whatever. Be your own worst critic. Once you rule out everything else, what is left, must be, with the greater probability.

Never let your patient rush you.

Take the time you need. You are not "wasting time", ever. 10 minutes of testing to determine the cause, can save several appointments of chasing the wrong thing.

Ever have a patient tell you exactly what "their problem" is, and that they have tried everything? That, right there, is a rule-out test: IF treatment for "issue A" has never worked, maybe it is because "issue B" needs the work.

Take the 10 minutes to find what "Issue B" is. This will be what sets you apart as a good therapist. Not the style you use, not the techniques you use; finding the source and properly treating it.
