I follow Niko on The Awakened Species on Telegram and Patreon and loved this post. Maybe you will, too.

Hello my good people, I hope that you are well, and that you are enjoying yourself.
Despite many difficult topics that await us, today I had a feeling to write something completely different. I wanted to create a post which is going to be more of a spiritual in nature. However, there will be more topics regarding different Life Paths, for now, I just want to put some things in your perspective.
You know when you book a vacation, and it takes forever until that day comes when you gotta go on a vacation, and you're waiting for that day, which feels like ages. You book it weeks or months in advance, and then you are thinking it's taking so long, the weeks take so long, and you're counting how many days away till the vacation begins, and you're probably thinking oh my god it's taking so long.
And then one day its the day before the vacation. Wow this is it, you're finally going on a vacation, you're having a great time, and you blink and the vacation is over...
You're thinking wait, what just happened, I waited all this time to go on a vacation, and I blinked and it's over, you're already on your flight back like it never happened, asking yourself did I even have a vacation.
There are so many things in life where it's like that, where you're just waiting forever for this great moment to happen, and whatever it is, the wedding, or a vacation, or a getaway, or something wonderful, and before you know it, it's over. It happened so fast...
Life is like that, too. I know you knew I was going to say that. Before you know it, it's over. It's just like visiting your folks, and your family, and your loved ones. You don't see them that often, and when you do, you're like wow, they've aged. It's sad, and it's scary, and it makes you aware of mortality and all that.
I know some of you will say, yeah but the next life will be better, it's going to be paradise, I can't wait to have this over with. I guarantee you there's going to be a lot of people, who at the end of the life are going to go like "Uh, it happened so fast, I wish I've done this, or I wish I've done that, I wish I would've appreciated things and people more".
This is a gift, not everybody gets to be born as a human being on planet Earth, where life is pretty easy for most people. This isn't like hard days 200 years ago, or 500 years ago and more, where it was very hard to deal with life on planet Earth. Anyway, we have a lot to be thankful for, and the most people are not thankful for what they have. They're too busy with bills, and what's tomorrow, and yesterday, and what people think about them on social media, or whatever ridiculous things they're thinking about that's wasting and clogging up their mind.
They're not taking time to really stop, and be quiet, shut off their mind, and look around and go "Wow, theres so much to be thankful for". Every moment that you're given is a gift. Every moment is something to appreciate, and if it isn't then you need to change the way you look at things. Every moment of life is a precious thing. You really do not know it, until it's the last day of your vacation.
You do not realize it until it's the last day of your life. You look back, and you go "Oh, man if only I could do this again, I would look at things differently, I would live things differently, I would think differently, I would make different choices, my priorities would be different".
Well, I am warning you now, that day is going to come before you know it. Just like that vacation which ended so fast, that end of your life, might as well be next week, might as well be tomorrow, because that's how fast it happens.
Now is the time to think, while you still have a few moments left, what are you going to do with this gift, with this precious thing that you have been given?
No matter what your situation is, you can find the gold and count your blessings.
For example, you have a clean comfortable warm bed. Great food. You have better living conditions than the majority of the millions who are in the military. You have it better than the majority of the millions in prisons in countries around the world! You have it better than the millions of homeless. You have it better than the tens of millions who go to bed cold, hungry, and live without running water or clean sewage and no sanitation. There are tens of millions who are sleeping on dirt floors, who are riddled with disease and sickness with no hope.
There is so much to be thankful for... Enjoy, appreciate, make the most out of every moment you've been given in life, because this is a gift, so make the most of it.
Look for the gold.
Find the good.
List the things you are grateful for.
Being happy and fulfilled is a choice.
All my love to you good people,
Niko
