🚨What happens if your friend or family start to choke while eating dinner? What is the correct method to get the object out of their airway?🚨

First, you need to recognize how choking looks like: no noise/clutching sounds βž• often holding on to the throat using both hands ( not all the time) ➑️
This means that the airway has been fully obstructed ➑️
Start by applying 5 firm back blowsβž• followed by 5 abdominal thrusts.

It has been two years since the devastating North York van attack that left 10 people killed and 16 injured. On April 23, 2018, a man drove southbound on Yonge Street, plowing into pedestrians on the sidewalk between Finch and Sheppard. 9-1-1 was called and paramedics were dispatched to the site.

Coast2Coast will be hosting a free First Aid & CPR workshop in their memory to raise awareness.

Burns are soft-tissue injuries caused by chemicals, electricity, heat, or radiation. When dealing with burns, it is important to recognize the severity of the injury. There are three different levels for burn related injury. 1) Superficial (First degree) 2) Partial Thickness ( Second degree) and 3) Full Thickness ( Third degree).
Follow the steps below to provide first aid for someone affected with Superficial burns:
1. Cool the affected area with water or a clean, cool (but not freezing)
compress for at least 10 minutes.
2. Remove jewellery and clothing from
the burn site, but do not attempt to
move anything that is stuck to the
skin.
3. Cover the burn loosely with a dry,
sterile dressing.
