🌟The power of having a Mantra🌟.

In some of the hardest times of my life, I’ve cultivated a mantra that comforted me and supported me through fears and doubts. Some of my favourites include: “I am not the first person and I won’t be the last to go through this” (this one helps to feel less alone in our struggles). With a loved one who was fighting some health concerns, we came up with this together: “I am healthy. I am strong. I am ok”. “This too shall pass”, is a commonly used one.

Mantras are more than just words — they’re anchors.
In moments of stress, self-doubt, or overwhelm, the thoughts in our minds can spiral quickly. A mantra interrupts that spiral. It gives your nervous system something steady to hold onto.

✨ A mantra can:
• Calm anxiety in the moment
• Shift negative self-talk
• Reinforce self-worth
• Build emotional resilience
• Help you respond instead of react

The key? Repetition + belief + practice.
When you repeat a phrase consistently, your brain begins to create new neural pathways. Over time, that statement becomes easier to access — especially when you need it most.

Some more examples:
🖤 “I can do hard things.”
🖤 “This feeling will pass.”
🖤 “I am safe right now.”
🖤 “Progress, not perfection.”
🖤 “I am worthy of care and respect.”

A mantra isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about choosing a grounding truth when your mind is telling you a distorted story.

If you don’t have one yet, try this:
Notice the negative thought you return to most often — then gently write the opposite, compassionate truth.
Your words matter. Especially the ones you say to yourself.

⁉️Wonder why fidget and squish toys are so popular?⁉️

Fidget toys are popular because they offer sensory regulation, improve concentration, and reduce stress by providing a physical outlet for nervous energy or boredom. They are widely used to boost focus and calm anxiety, making them helpful tools for managing focus-related issues like ADHD and autism.

💙Sensory and Emotional Regulation: Fidgets provide tactile input that can help ground people, reduce anxiety, and manage “big emotions”.

💛 Improved Focus and Cognitive Benefits: Contrary to the idea that they are distracting, fidget toys can actually help individuals—particularly those with ADHD—by providing just enough stimulation to keep their minds engaged on a primary task, such as listening or working.

💚 Release of Excess Energy: They provide a quiet, non-disruptive way to release fidgety energy in classrooms or workspaces, preventing the need for more distracting behaviors like tapping feet or shifting in seats.

💜 Dopamine Boost and Stress Relief: Manipulating these toys can help trigger the brain’s reward system, increasing dopamine levels, which reduces stress and brings a sense of calm.

I tried running seriously for the first time in 2018. I was going through a hard time in my life and it just felt good. Well actually IT FELT AWFUL!!! Every step of that first kilometre I tried to run felt absolutely awful. I had to walk and run just to do one kilometre. But when I was done?!! It felt AMAZING. I did something hard. I pushed through. Enter the rush of the flood of chemicals that enter our body when we run. Also known as the “Runner’s high”…

The “runner’s high” and the general feelings of calm, reduction in anxiety, and pain relief experienced after a run are caused by a complex cocktail of neurochemicals, most notably endocannabinoids and endorphins, along with neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine.

Here are just some of the benefits of running:
🏃‍♀️Reduced anxiety
🏃‍♀️Enhanced mood
🏃Feelings of calm
🏃Reduced Pain (natural pain killer chemicals)
🏃🏾‍♀️Sense of Reward, Motivation, and Joy
🏃🏾‍♀️Improved Focus
🏃🏿Stress reduction
🏃🏽‍♀️Increased Energy
🏃🏽‍♀️Improved Cognitive Function 🧠
🏃‍♀️Improved Digestion and Gut health

Just wanted to share the official launch of our 12 Week ADHD Program!

One of the main components of the program involves working with clients to assess and support their Emotional Regulation skills.

Emotions play a big part in ADHD symptoms and the ability to recognize and regulate our emotions can help us to see the patterns of emotions and behaviour and to intentionally change them to get us what we want - more choice and control over how we think, feel, and act.

A few examples:

🧨 EMOTIONS & DECISION MAKING - emotions play heavily into the choices we consciously or unconsciously make each day. Anxiety (fear of failure) for example, can lead to PROCRASTINATION (prevents us from starting a task)
🧨 EMOTIONS & MOTIVATION: Feelings have the power to drive ⬆️ or inhibit ⬇️ motivation
🧨EMOTIONS & COGNITIVE FUNCTION: Emotions can actually TURN OFF our thinking brains - making it impossible to think, concentrate, reason, remember, etc.
🧨EMOTIONS & RELATIONSHIPS: Emotions can draw people to us or push them away. They can create conflict or bonds.

Our 12 week program will assess the areas that you need support with (emotional regulation, executive functioning, healing from trauma, relationship skills, mindfulness and attention skills, and more) to help you with your ADHD symptoms. Whether you have suspected ADHD or a definitive diagnosis… whether this is for your child, teen, or for yourself as an adult - we tailor our ADHD program to you, your specific needs and goals.

Give us a call to get started today! 289-326-9989. We offer in person sessions in Mississauga (1107 Lorne Park Rd Unit 207) or online for anyone in Ontario.

Your brain has interconnected networks that control everything - mood, motivation, energy, patience, sleep, and how you behave in your relationships…

✨Dopamine✨ The Motivation and Reward Chemical - when it’s low, starting tasks feels impossible and even things you love feel meh.

⚡️Cortisol⚡️ The Stress Activator - It helps get us through challenges but when it doesn’t shut off it keeps us wired and tired!

☀️Serotonin☀️ Your mood and resilience chemical. When low, it keeps us feeling down 🌧️😞

The good news: Small changes in how you live can alter these chemicals - you can regain control and balance to improve your life!

You don’t need more willpower or discipline.. you need to understand your brain and what actually helps!

We are here to help you understand your brain 🧠 and to make small changes that will have a big impact 📈 on your life now and for your future. Send us a message to get started!

🌷Vibe in the pink office today🌷… Every little thing is going to be alright. 💖💕

P.s. I bought this picture at a time in my life when everything didn’t feel like it would be alright. It gave me hope. And guess what? It helped! 💕✨🥰

I bought this pink couch at a transitional time in my life - it was an act of self care. I was going through my divorce and half the furniture was gone. So I bought myself a pink couch… and some pink, pretty, fluffy pillows.

I always say, I wouldn’t wish divorce on my worst enemy. It’s painful, and long, and heartbreaking. The end of a dream. If you’ve been through it, you know what I’m talking about. If you’re about to go through it or are in it now… please know - you will be ok. Your kids will be ok. You will get through this. You, your ex, and your kids are entering a new chapter. I also know it can feel lonely, and scary.

That’s why we developed our “New Chapters” Separation Counselling Program. It’s for anyone contemplating separation, in the midst of separating or struggling on the other side. You don’t have to do this alone. Our program creates a village to support you and the family to navigate the changes that come with separation with resilience, strength and self-worth.

Yesterday my pink couch was on the back of a truck being delivered to our new office.

It was emotional to move it out… but I don’t need it anymore - I’m in another new chapter… it’s now for others to heal on! 🥲♥️🙏
