Good morning FLOW community :) Here is a position you can practice this week to welcome more ease into your life. What do you do to relax after a long day's work?

Also known as the Alexander position or active rest position, the constructive rest position will help you release the lower back and the muscles of the body to their normal resting position if you stay there long enough. This practice is ideal for people working in the medical, educational field as well as essential workers working on their feet all day. People working seated can also benefit a lot from this position as it allows the back of the neck and shoulders to rest fully supported by the firmness of the floor. You may also take this position in a quiet room where you will not be disturbed for a few moments if you are feeling anxious and need to find comfort and relief.

The word routine can inspire a sense of redundancy or even bland repetitiveness for some! For those who find “routine” constraining, thinking of routine like a very personal ritual can create an atmosphere where each action carries a loving meaning or purpose.

The subtle difference is that by calling it a ritual, we choose to remain present in each action to appreciate what we are offering ourselves. A routine is a powerful habit enhancer because little energy is spent on thinking about the sequence of events.

The intent behind using the word ritual is to be present and create an emotional link to an activity that promotes wellness. See this emotional link grow over time as a result of this investment in your future self.

Performing a daily routine as a ritual can be a sign of love for the body, sends a message of hope and courage to the heart, and leaves an open space for the mind to welcome a new day.

…And if the word ritual does not resonate with you, find what feels good to you. Let the intention of your actions take you in the direction of your desires.

Rituel? Pourquoi?

Le mot routine peut inspirer à certains un sens de redondance, de répétition peu inspirant. Pour ceux qui trouvent le mot “routine” contraignant, penser à une routine comme étant un rituel très personnel peut créer une atmosphère où chaque action est empreinte d’une intention ou d’une signification remplie d’affection.

La subtilité de l’usage du mot rituel nous invite à rester présent dans chaque action, apprécier ce qu’elle nous offre. Une routine est une façon merveilleuse de consolider de bonnes habitudes puisqu’elle nous épargne l’énergie nécessaire à planifier quelles actions suivront ensuite.

L’intention de rebaptiser sa routine en rituel nous rappelle d’être présent et créer un lien émotionnel avec une activité qui favorise le bien-être. Voyez ce lien émotionnel grandir avec le temps comme étant un résultat de l’investissement dans la personne que vous serez dans le futur.

Pratiquer un rituel au quotidien peut être un signe d’amour pour le corps, envoie une message d’espoir et de courage au cœur et laisse à l’esprit un espace vaste afin d'accueillir un jour nouveau.

…Et si le mot rituel ne vous convient pas du tout, trouvez ce qui vous fait vous sentir bien dans votre peau. Laissez l’intention de vos actions et votre présence vous mener dans la direction de vos rêves.

Making choices for our health can be just as easy as it can be difficult. Each day of our lives is different. At times, making a decision and sticking to it can feel like a breeze.

Other days, relying on willpower almost feels like a battle. We have to pay particular attention to the way we speak to ourselves on those days and be compassionate with who we are.

Remember that habits, stress, anxiety, cravings, addictions, or even lack of sleep can affect thinking and the decision-making process. Practice observing what shows up during challenging moments. Forgive any reactions or resistance. See how they affect your choices. Observe with genuine kindness and curiosity.

Know that each of your decisions is simply a step on the bridge of time that unites all versions of you. It is possible to redirect your focus and decisions each step of the way towards what you want to embody in your life. Start small. Start now. What will you do next?

Faire des choix en faveur d’une meilleure santé peut être facile certains jours alors que d’autres, c’est pratiquement un combat. Il faut être vigilant et bien observer la façon dont on se parle lors de ces jours-là, car souvent on oublie de faire preuve de compassion envers la personne que nous sommes.

Souviens-toi que les habitudes, le stress, l’anxiété, les envies, les addictions ou même le manque de sommeil peuvent affecter la pensée ainsi que la façon dont nous prenons des décisions. La pratique est d’observer ce qui se présente à nous lors de moments plus difficiles. Pardonne les réactions et la résistance. Vois comment ces facteurs influencent tes choix. Observe avec gentillesse et une curiosité authentiques.

Sache que chacune de tes décisions ne sont que des pas sur le pont du temps qui relie chaque version de toi. Il est possible de rediriger son focus et ses décisions à chaque pas dans la direction que tu désires manifester dans ta vie. Commence petit. Commence maintenant. Que vas-tu faire ensuite?
