Everything Meagan

Everything Meagan This is a page that will help support Meagan and Tallulah during this time of great uncertainty. Most of all what is needed right now is a new and stable home.

Meagan will need people to assist in finding apartments, visiting apartments, moving, prepare meals, child care. We need you to have boots on the ground in search of her new apartment. this means, actively looking, possibly visiting for her, and making this a as much of a turn key situation as possible. Meagan is most comfortable close to her doctors and transit. She needs to be close to groceries, laundry, and amenities. Rent: $500-$650.00 max
4 1/2 or up
South West, Verdun, St Henri, Ville Emard, Lasalle, NDG, etc...

We can all do this together! Let's gitter DONE!

She is not allowed to lift more then 10 pounds and is on heavy pain meds.

It was my last day of radiation!! Woohoo! I'm so happy! I'll still experience side effects, they can continue for 3-4 weeks after treatment. Especially with the oral chemo already making my skin fragile and me feel tired and nauseous. But.. I'm done radiation! I'm also so so tired from everything, it will be so wonderful not to need to travel back and forth on a hot bus! Hopefully I'll heal fast enough that I can enjoy some swimming before the summer is through. Hope you are all having an amazing summer! ❤️

I posted earlier looking for a hose for my air conditioner.. I found one half a block from my hospital at the hardware store there. I had tried at Canadian Tire and the guy said the dryer hose they had would 'melt'.. I think it was just bad communication and he meant what they had would melt the plastic on the ac.. Either way they didn't have the right piece. It was a solid piece there, I found the expandable one at home hardware. Not a moment too soon, it's an oven in here!! 😄

I'm in my new home, I am so thrilled! If anyone out there has a drill and would like to help secure some book shelves and attach a mirror to a dresser and a couple of hinges on a hutch, it would help so much! The place is in chaos and I'd like to do as much as I can before I start radiation in a couple of weeks. Thanks everyone!

Hey wonderful people! I met with my oncologist today, and here is what I learned: the tissue they took out during my surgery had a little cancer in it. If it hadn't, my 5 year survival rate would be 90%. Because it was there, my 5 year survival rate goes down to 80%. So he said that taking oral chemo would bring those percentages up a bit. He was undecided whether to do them or not, but I want to because even a few percentages means a lot when I've got this little person here that I want to watch grow up. So I'll be doing that oral chemo, which really sounds way less brutal than the other chemo I was on, so I can do it! Also, this marks the first time I've had any REAL input on my treatments, so that feels pretty good. Feels like things are a lot less time sensitive and scary when I get some say in what's going on; so that's pretty great. Hope you are all doing wonderfully 💖

Looking for apartments, please keep an eye out for me! Some of the best places I've found were from signs in windows. Please feel free to send me stuff from your neighbourhood! Or anything you come across. Preferably a 4 1/2 in the 600 to 700 range (I know that's low but still possible in some areas!). I'd love something close to a metro and grocery stores. Thanks for helping, you guys are wonderful!

Looong day at the hospital today. I met with my radiation oncologist today, who informed me that I should be starting radiation soon, but there is a 8 week waiting list to start. That's too much time for my doctors to be comfortable with (the longer it's delayed, the higher the risk of reoccurrence). So I might need to transfer from my beloved hospital for just this part of treatments, which is kind of intimidating. I also met with my surgeon, who said that my lymph nodes were negative, so that means the cancer hasn't spread (yay)! But they did find some cancer in the itty bitty little tumour that survived my chemo. Ultimately it's up to my oncologist, but likely I'll need to take an oral chemo as well. My surgeon said they don't have much evidence to know long term prognosis if it's better to do it or not (fun fact : chemo causes cancer, it's like some crazy plot twist!) so my oncologist will do what he thinks is best for my case. He seems to be doing every treatment possible, since I'm still young and I have a young child I need to be here for, so I'm betting he'll want me to do it. So not the best news ever, but certainly not the worst either. The great news is that spring is finally here, and my wonderful daughter is having a sleep over with a good pal; so I'm out for a walk around the neighbourhood, squeezing as much beautiful healing sunshine as I can out of this day! Hope you are all enjoying the spring too!

Hi there everyone! I am currently looking for a mini washing machine, if anyone has one available for sale. My landlords have cut me off from using the laundry in the building, even though it has been included in my rent since I have moved in, and I have recently been paying extra to use it. The closest laundromat is a 20 minute walk, and I'm still healing from my surgery so it's too far to carry heavy laundry. Any leads on mini washers would be wonderful, and thanks so much for all of your help! 💗

Getting pretty nervous.. My surgery is tomorrow, first thing in the morning. I'm super nervous but I know it'll be fine cause they are awesome there (and my surgeon is amazing!). Once this step is done, I will be either 2/3 of the way through treatments, or halfway through depending on what they find from the tissue they remove. I might need more chemo, but it would be an oral chemo if I did. We shall see.. Either way, one more step towards being cancer free! 😊💪

Help! Do any of you wonderful humans own a vehicle and want to help move some bags to the donation centre? I am currently trying to purge things from my house to get ready for the (eventual) move, and I currently have a bunch of things ready in bags and it's taken over my space. It's probably too much stuff for a small car. There is a Renaissance that takes donations not too far from my house! If you could help please let me know, thank you so much 😊

So tomorrow is the big day! Last chemo (hopefully forever, but there has been talk of an oral chemo so I don't want to jinx it just yet). I'm scared / nervous / happy to have treatments 1/3 of the way done. Surgery is scheduled for March 8th, and I'm super nervous but also eager to get that part done too. But first to get through the last chemo.. The last pnemonia left me with a crinkling sound still in my lung, so although we're going forward with chemo tomorrow I'll get 4 shots in my stomach (I think) to keep my white blood cells up. Doesn't sound like much fun, but I've heard they help a lot with energy levels so maybe it'll be a good thing 😄 Thanks again for all of your love and support, you're truly a wonderful bunch of people ❤️

Sometimes I forget that this part of my treatment is making me super fragile.. And sometimes my body reminds me. Spent almost 12 hours in the hospital only to learn that I have a whole new pneumonia. I don't have a good track record so far with this particular chemo, I'm pretty eager to put it behind me and move onto surgery and radiation 😄
