It’s crazy when your version of being okay is actually really you on survival mode, and you say you’re okay to everyone around you who asks that you truly believe it even when that’s so far from the truth. It’s crazy when you try so hard to protect everyone’s feelings but end up hurting and destroying yourself and peace in the process…it’s crazy when you ask someone to respect your boundaries or let them know they hurt you and all of a sudden they play the victim card and you’re wrong for being hurt…it was just “constructive criticism 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s wrong for having fears and anxieties cause you’re a Christian 🤨 or you can’t show your pain around your child and you have to be a strong 💪🏾 mother..oh my bad how’s this 😃 🤡 You’re not allowed to have ptsd from someone or a few people who destroyed your whole life and traumatized you cause “it happened so long ago…get over it!”… lol so if y’all see me laughing when I should be crying, smiling, being quiet or just not even present in a conversation while I’m looking at you in ur eyes 👀 sorry I’m just in survival mode trying to survive…they say it’s okay to not be okay..but damn, all these double standards…is it really okay?!

Poulet Rouge Tahnee style omg 🔥🔥🔥 like damn I should start my own and call it poulet NayNay or something lol this HIT HARD!!!! I made everything from scratch including the bbq sauce, no specific recipe just threw around this and that, made some brown rice that slapped and some veggies 🥗 y’all the chicken was TENDER!!!!!! Wouldn’t even stay on the fork, you damn near needed a spoon! The chicken breast was JUICY, spicy and gooooood!!! Kaiden the picky eater gave it a 10/10!

Y’all this was bussin’ bussin’ frfr!!! Like I just threw a whole bunch of stuff together that ain’t even made no sense and turned it into a masterpiece…and of course the family devoured more of it than the cook 🙄😤 but it’s okay cause they loved it and my son ate his veggies and some of mine…MOM WIN!! 🏆 🥇 for reference, i was trying to do a poulet rouge vibe but with ground beef instead of chicken (cause who got all day to thaw some frozen chicken when ur hungry 🤤?! Then I added some fries to make it kid friendly, then I fried up some plantain into fries shape with my big back self added some raw veggies and the rest was history…now my belly is bussin bussin and the ‘ITIS’ is ‘ITIS-ing’. Anyone wanna come wash my dishes while I take a nap?! 😴

Let’s talk about something that gets lost in all the "New Year, New Me" noise: Mental Clarity vs. Weight Loss. 🧠✨

I’m all for feeling healthy, but can we stop making the scale the boss of our happiness? I’m choosing how my brain feels over how my jeans fit every single day. 🙅‍♀️

But I want to be real with you: I know it’s not as easy as "just eat better." For those of us living with food anxiety, every meal can feel like a high-stakes test. The overthinking, the "is this okay?", the guilt... it’s exhausting! 😩 It’s hard to focus on clarity when your mind is racing about what’s on your plate.

I’ve found that getting those anxious thoughts out of my head and onto paper helps SO much. Journaling about the "why" behind the anxiety takes the power away from the fear. It gives you space to breathe and reminds you that you’re doing your bestest. 📝💛

Happy Monday, loves! ☁️✨ I know January can sometimes feel a bit long and heavy: some call it ‘Blue Monday,’ but over here at MENTAL ESSENTIALS, we’re doing a total reframe. Welcome to Blue Wellday! 💙

Instead of letting those low-energy days win, I’ve been leaning hard into my favorite rituals to fill my cup back up.
