There were several options for this climb and I obviously opted for the most difficult climb. La Super was definitely super at kicking my 🍑 It was only 1.5 km long but the angle was an average of 34.5 degrees (elevation was 850m) and is considered a double black diamond . The trail was mostly loose rock and some areas were wet making the grind more challenging. I was able to complete the climb in 55 minutes.

Today, I'm thankful to be able to have the mental health 🧠 and physical capacity 💪 to be able to challenge myself. I have to admit, I had my doubts but gut, determination and grind was what I had to muster to push through those moments of doubt.

After almost a year and passing my kendo sho-dan grading in Toronto, I finally got the official physical proof of it. Despite receiving it a bit later, its a super proud moment. Even though I had made a goal to attempt my ni-dan this November, it's not possible with the year I had so I'll make my intention to attempt my ni-dan next year instead. Life comes in waves of ups and downs. Today was a reminder of the up days.

Thank you to Ariyama and Toida sensei as well as my sempais to help me throughout this process and to push me to better myself. I appreciate the support and I could not have achieved this accomplishment without them. Domo arigato gozaimashta! 🙏

Granada, the city of pomegranates. The Alhambra has been on my list of travels for roughly a year now. The rich history of the mix between the Moors (a blend of Muslims from Arab, Northern African and Berber origins) and the Spanish. The incredible architecture, the fine details of each slab of stone and the minds to even imagine what they were able to create was just breathtaking for me. It was a humbling experience to see what our ancestors were capable of creating.

Because I identify as a Muslim, seeing and touching what the early Muslims were capable of creating gave me chills. Something that was able to last through time since the early 700s (that's over 1300 years of conquest and change of history) is incredible! Allahu akbar!

💢Heel Bridge Physio Ball Rollouts💢

Give this one a try to get your hamstrings, calves and glutes firing bullets. Great for getting your lower body posterior chain involved. The unstable surface adds the extra challenge. If you've struggled with knee injuries this (or a variation) should be part of your repertoire.

Its always healthy to push one's boundaries occasionnally. This way you test your capabilities, see how far you go and enjoy the process. It's okay to fail (I didn't get this right on the first try) but you get yourself back up and try again.

BEWARE: this is quite challenging as the physio ball will challenge your stability.
