Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services has a broad range of anti-violence services available to the residents of this region.
We offer Men’s and Women’s Outreach Services; Accompaniment, advocacy, supportive counseling, safety planning, transportation to medical/ social service / counseling appointments, referrals to other services, education and support in accessing legal services.
ASLCS provides mid-range counselling and related support to male and female survivors of childhood abuse, s*xual assault and abuse, and violence in intimate relationships. Counselling is offered within an accessible, safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment and delivered through a trauma informed, empowerment model.

The PEACE (Protection, Empowerment, Advocacy, Counseling & Education) Program helps children who’s emotional health and self esteem have been impacted by witnessing abuse. Teaches non-violent ways of conflict resolution to help end the inter-generational cycle of abuse.

Our Child & Youth Mental Health/ Sexual Health Intervention Program provides ther**eutic response, assessment, counselling, referral and follow up services to children and youth under the age of 19 who may be experiencing mental, emotional or behavioural difficulties or have been s*xually abused. These services include screening and assessment, treatment of identified mental health issues, case management, case planning and appropriate referrals, support for caregivers and clinical consultation. Preventative and educational programs to improve the quality of life for children and their families in our community are also provided.

The Nakusp RCMP Victim Witness Services unit has been in operation since 1989, providing information and support services to victims and witnesses of all types of crime.
If you have been the victim of an assault, a property offense, or any other crime, or if you have witnessed a crime, CALL THE POLICE. They can take action to investigate the incident, and they can refer you to the Victim Services unit. You may also call the service directly at 250-265-4834. An answering machine is available for messages after office hours.
All services are provided free of charge.
