I am grateful to have so many wonderful patients on my table.
Here is what a few are saying....

It is truly a gift to spend time together, regulating our nervous systems and decoding the messages our bodies are sharing.

I love this medicine and the way it gets people to slow down, feel heard and recognize that we play a part in the healing process.

Wether it is booking the appointment, asking for adjustments or changing our diets, My goal is to empower you on your health journey!

It is so much more than pain and recovery medicine at Bonnington Acupuncture.

Regular treatment can help your body recover faster, sleep deeper and create space from the stressors in every day life.

My schedule is now open for the remainder of the winter season. Offering treatments in Bonnington & Nelson (at two locations).

I would be honored to help you rest
and slowly bring back the light,
one acu nap and a time.

I have a few new followers so I thought I would take some time to re-introduce myself. My name is Mariah and I live and homestead on the unceeded territory on the sinixt peoples. I do my best to learn from and understand mistakes of the past, and focus on gentle, trauma informed practices for tending land and the human landscape.

I have always been drawn to alternative medicines for healing. I have supported community & family members with different abilities for over a decade, & watched as many slipped through the cracks of our western medical system. It is my goal to make sure my patients feel seen and a part of the healing process.

I was always so amazed by the mental benefits that came post Acupuncture treatment. How it relieved my stress and helped to process and release emotions that I had been carrying needlessly. Like the weight in my shoulders had finally been lifted.

I began studying Acupuncture in 2021 & have since completed my program & continue to be mentored by Dave & Laurie Knox. It is their work (and all of the other talented practitioners in our community) that inspired me to begin studying this ancient medicine.

My favourite part about Acupuncture is that it is YOUR body doing the healing. The needles act as a guide to send your immune system to specific areas to tend to its own landscape.

Sometimes when we have been stressed for extended periods of time our resilient bodies make decisions to prioritize different mechanisms to help get us through, and sometimes we need gentle reminders to help bring these systems back into balance.

As we enter the darkest time of the year, may we remember that it is a season of necessary stillness β€” a time to soften into rest, reflection, and deep nourishment.

Nature balances rest with renewal
the looming winter reminds us that restoration is as essential as action,
and that quiet care now prepares us
for the brighter seasons ahead.

If you are having a hard time adapting
to the change of season, dealing with stress, or needing a boost for your immune system,

Now is a perfect time to book in for your seasonal tune-up.

Another favorite tool in the TCM tool kit is the TDP far infrared heat lamp. It contains a heated mineral plate made of 33 trace elements that stimulate your body to heal itself.

Similar to Moxibustion, it penetrates deep into the tissues to bring about a natural healing response. Superficially known to rejuvenate tendons, muscles and soft tissue injuries, but the depth of the TDP lamp also stimulates cell production and enhances micro-circulation, similar to a concentrated sunbeam on these rainy days.

The lamp itself has been shown to decrease inflammation, stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, and support immunity, but mostly the warmth just feels good.

Book in now for your Acupuncture Tune up and come feel the benefits of the TDP lamp while your stress melts away. ✨
