Self-care has its place... rest matters, pleasure matters, support matters.
But burnout doesn’t happen because moms aren’t trying hard enough to relax.

When exhaustion is widespread, chronic, and structural, the solution can’t be individual. Candles don’t fix childcare gaps. Baths don’t replace community. And no amount of “wellness” can undo systems that demand too much and give too little.

If you’re a mom and you’re tired, overwhelmed, or stretched thin. That’s not a personal failure. It’s information.

We don’t need better bubble baths. We need better support.

Anger doesn’t always mean something is wrong with you.
Sometimes it means something is wrong around you.

When paired with courage, anger can become a signal for change, a refusal to accept harm as normal, and a willingness to imagine something better.

Hope isn’t passive.
It asks us to feel, to care, and to act... even when it’s uncomfortable.

A Beautiful quote by Augustine of Hippo.

Somewhere along the way, “good parenting” got confused with perfection.

Perfect snacks. Perfect responses. Perfect energy. But kids don’t need perfect... they need present.

Showing up imperfectly, repairing when we mess up, holding boundaries with kindness, and taking care of ourselves? That’s real parenting. And yes… sometimes that looks like bringing French fries to the potluck. 🍟

Being an “okay” mom is actually pretty great parenting.
Save this for the hard days, and share it with a mom who could use the reminder. 🤍

Working in mental health offers a close-up view of what it means to be human, the hard parts and the hopeful ones. Again and again, resilience shows up in ways people don’t always recognize in themselves.

Support doesn’t mean weakness. It means choosing not to carry everything alone.

This month (Psychology Month) and always, conversations about mental health, emotions, and care matter just as much as conversations about physical health.

🧠 Practical tools you can actually use

MBSR isn’t about escaping stress it’s about learning how to meet it differently.

Feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed can start to feel like your “normal.”
If your mind is always racing or your body feels stuck in stress mode, you’re not alone and support is available.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based, 8-week group program that teaches practical skills to help you respond to stress differently. Through guided practices, mindful movement, and group learning, participants build tools to manage stress, anxiety, and even chronic pain in everyday life.

You don’t need meditation experience or special skills just curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Over time, many people notice lower stress and anxiety, better sleep, and improved emotional regulation.

Stress doesn’t always need to be pushed through.
Sometimes, it needs to be understood and supported.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based, 8-week group program that helps you learn practical tools to support yourself through stress. Rather than trying to eliminate stress, MBSR focuses on building awareness, emotional regulation, and healthier responses in everyday life.

MBSR vs. Mindfulness

Mindfulness is often seen as a concept or moment-to-moment awareness.
MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) turns mindfulness into a structured, evidence-based 8-week program you can use in daily life.

In this reel, Melissa Nigrini explains how MBSR focuses on experiential learning and practical skill-building to help reduce stress and build resilience.
No meditation experience needed.

Australia has become the first country to restrict social media accounts for kids under the age of 16. A move that’s already sparking global conversation.

The goal isn’t to keep kids offline entirely, but to reduce risks like cyberbullying, addictive platform design, and exposure to harmful or distressing content during key developmental years.

As parents, caregivers, and professionals, this raises important questions about boundaries, responsibility, and how we support kids in a digital world that wasn’t built with their nervous systems in mind.

Should Canada consider similar protections?

What we learn about emotions early on shapes how we move through discomfort later in life.

When regulation is taught, modeled, and practiced, it changes patterns that would otherwise repeat.

This is how cycles soften. This is how resilience grows... quietly, over time.

Emotional education is not about control. It’s about capacity.
If you want support building that capacity, we’re here.
