Verdell Jessup - Nervous System Consultant

Hello, I'm Verdell. I guide people (of all ages) through traumas and challenges into embodiment. I also aim to help those in the rescue services industry.

Our bodies can only tolerate so much stress or trauma before they begin to show signs of dis-ease in the form of pain, illnesses, chronic fatigue, skin conditions, mysterious symptoms, PTSD etc. My company was formed to help people reclaim their quality of life and recover from pain by incorporating two modalities that compliment each other: Somatic Experiencing and the Feldenkrais Method. Both practices are rooted in awareness (of the mind and the body), and are extremely effective at helping people who are struggling with persistent health concerns that won't go away. I work with clients from a range of backgrounds, including high-performance athletes, dancers, musicians, children, seniors, stroke patients, and people with neurological deficiencies. I specialize in trauma and work with people who were in a major accident, survived an avalanche or fire, were the victim of mental or physical abuse, or were involved in any kind of traumatic event. Often the people who benefit the most from my work are paramedics, firefighters, and other rescue workers who experience incredible stress and pressure each day. Our skin is our body's largest organ and it will take over detoxification when our liver and kidneys are unable or are taxed. This can happen due to stress, disease or too many toxins. Thankfully, our skin takes over and steps in to help detoxify us (insert happy dance), if not, we would get really ill.

This process leads the skin to develop skin issues sometimes very persist and dreadful skin conditions, abrasions and rashes.

I am sure we all know someone living with eczema, psoriasis, acne or other mysterious rashes - maybe even yourself has a skin condition or have in the past.

We need to be very thankful that our skin has the ability to step in and assist the body, particularly, the liver and kidneys.

Sometimes we just need to walk away instead of questioning, arguing, debating or trying to fill a need to know why.

In the last year or so, I had a very dear friend send an email stating we are no longer friends and that we no longer resonated with one another.

My initial reaction was deep sadness and then confusion set in. Somatically, I felt as though I had daggers digging into my heart and my body started to go numb. A few tears came but in the end I was really perplexed.

I had honestly had not seen or heard from this friend in nearly a year so this caught me off guard.

My mind wanted to know why.

This pattern of mine is to wonder or to blame myself for doing something wrong - I would spend days ruminating over scenarios to try to figure how to blame myself. This behaviour is not self serving so I decided to take a new approach. Also since I had not seen or heard from this friend in such a long time it was hard to even imagine where I might have gone wrong.

Rather than trying to figure it out I just walked away. I did not need to know. I did not need to hash out the why's and the how's or to arguing any points. Simply that someone, a person I considered a dear friend would just email out of the blue stating this was enough for me.

I truly believe that walking away was the healthiest decision. Sometimes we need to let friends go in order for new friends and individuals to come into our lives.

Compassion runs deep in my soul and being. I am ever so grateful as I have an uncanny ability to find the gem inside every human being and can see the positives in all negative situations.
I was raised by an exceptional compassionate mother. My mom dedicated her entire life to work with children living with disabilities and impairments. She found so much joy and fulfillment working with these beautiful souls. The care she gave these children and families was beyond palatable - these children's needs often came before my mother's own needs and her own health.

This greatly impacted how I would experience and see the the world as a child and now as a woman.

Empathy and compassion is part of my DNA. I am a caring soul. I am a nurturing being.✨

Skepticism is a fascination of mine. I know so many individuals who are confined by Toxic Skepticism. Toxic Skepticism truly limits what we are willing to try in life or even what we are receptive to hear or even see in life. Many individuals shutdown and become unreceptive to new ideas or thoughts because skepticism is dominating them.

Skepticism can be a learned behaviour. Maybe our parents are skeptics or maybe we have been limited by religious beliefs or we are living in so much fear due to past experiences.
Yes we are born with some Skepticism to keeps us safe but when is it inhibiting our views and experiences in life?

Dani's transformational experience healing from Psoriasis is a story I come back to again and again.

“I had battled with Psoriasis (auto immune disease) for 30 years. I had tried almost everything available to deal and heal my condition, with little to no success.  I had a pendulum body reading from Verdell during one of the worst flare ups I had experienced. The time frame of the reading was at the height of what historically would only worsen my condition. Verdell sent me a one page document of the results of my reading and the course of action that I would adhere to for the next 4 months.
