Summer vacation is in full swing and if you’re spending as much time outdoors as we are, a high-quality sunscreen is a MUST HAVE item in your beach bag! 🧴

As we know, when spending too much time outdoors without protection, UV radiation can cause premature aging by weakening your skin which shows up as fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, age spots and loose skin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are two types of sunscreens, Chemical and Mineral (physical) which may be a little tricky to differentiate.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To keep it simple…

CHEMICAL Sunscreen use chemicals to filter out the suns damaging rays by absorbing the product into your skin (as do the chemicals used in them, something to be aware of).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
MINERAL (also known as physical) Sunscreen sits on top providing immediate protection from UV RAYS by using ingredients like titanium dioxide and zinc ~ a great choice for kids and those of you with sensitive skin.

If you’re like me and don’t like the feel of too much product on your face, keep reading for some tips on how to eliminate the need for heavy makeup products & achieve skin that looks and feels good from the inside out.

Here’s a few tips to boost your skin’s radiance this summer 🌞

• Adapt a great skincare routine for your skin type. Keep it simple — cleanse, tone (if needed) moisturize & choose a hero product (serum / oil) to incorporate based on your skins needs. 🧖🏻‍♀️

• Exfoliate 1/2 times per week to eliminate product build up and dead cells.

Spring is a time for renewal and cleansing. It's also a great opportunity to clean out your makeup bag.

Why replace your products regularly?
Makeup products (especially liquid and cream-based) can trap bacteria, which can lead to breakouts, skin irritation, breakouts and nasty eye infections including styes.

A couple of telltale signs to know if your products have expired are a change in texture and any odour that seems off.

Check the back of your products for the PAO symbol (scroll through for reference) and don’t forget to save this guide as a quick reminder 😉.

This is your weekend reminder to wash off your makeup before you fall catch those 😴

While we sleep, our skin renews itself and if you’re not washing product off before you sleep you’re actually preventing the skin from its natural exfoliation process & not allowing it to breathe. This can lead to a dull
complexion , premature aging, clogged pores breakouts and leave skin looking and feeling fatigued.

This is why it is so important to have a skin care routine that works for you. I promise, it’s worth those extra minutes!
