Offering virtual and in-person counselling

I have been an occupational therapist for 25 years, and recently completed core coursework for my Masters in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and am now a Qualifying psychotherapist. . I have worked extensively with clients with mental health concerns throughout my career, most recently with Veterans and others suffering from PTSD, depression, and anxiety, providing me with specific knowledge of barriers to daily function. Together, we can work towards removing those barriers so that you can live the life you want to live.

On this Truth and Reconciliation Day, please take some time to try to fully understand the story of Indigenous Peoples and the importance of this day.
The trauma this population has been forced to endure is something that (thankfully) most of us cannot imagine.

My thoughts are with the OPP family today. Our first responders face incredible risk every day and their lives are forever changed by events like this.

Shortly after 2:00 am on May 11, 2023, officers from the Russell County OPP Detachment were dispatched to a disturbance at a home on Laval Street in Bourget, where someone had reported hearing a gunshot. Three officers arrived on the scene and all three were shot by an individual at the home. All three officers were transported to hospital in Ottawa. One of the officers has since died as a result of their injuries. The others are recovering. One person has been taken into custody and there is no risk to public safety. No further details are available at this time.

To my first responder clients: thank you for your service.

To my first responder clients: thank you for your service.

April 28 is Canada’s National Day of Mourning.

Canada’s public safety personnel face workplace danger every day. Yet they still answer the call of service without hesitation when we find ourselves in times of need.

Today, we pause to remember all of those who have been killed or injured on the job, and commit to protecting workers from suffering needless workplace tragedy.

Join us in our commitment to protecting those who protect us.

We develop core beliefs that are often misguided based on past negative experiences or trauma. Faulty core beliefs can lead to dysfunctional thoughts. Cognitive reframing can help lead us out of anxiety and depression. It takes work and persistence, but you can do it.
