In 2022, when this all first started I decided to cut ties with my current government job, keep my kids out of the school system, and go off on my own to painfully carve a new way.

When the dust settled I realized that I had started two new businesses, and I have zero regrets in my decision.

👦 👧 I have developed a microschool located in Metcalfe, Ontario with spaces for kinder to grade 4.

🏫 Our schoolhouse is over 100 years old and located on 150 acres of fields and forests.

👏 This is our second year running and we already have so much planned for this year, I have much more to share but for now, I will tell you that it will be the Hogwarts of microschools in the area!!

The Earth is like a gigantic battery that contains a natural, subtle electrical charge—a special kind of energy present in the ground. For safety and stability, most everything in the electrical world is connected to it, whether it is an electric power plant or your refrigerator. That’s what the term “grounded” means.

Being grounded also applies to people. When you are electrically grounded, you feel:

🌱Centered
🌱Solid
🌱Strong
🌱Balanced
🌱Less tense
🌱Less stressed

Overall, you feel good. If you have pain, you have less of it, or maybe none at all, when grounded.

Why is it important that my child gets the daily recommended servings of vegetables and fruits?

Fruits and vegetables are high in vitamins, minerals and fibre.

Kids should be encouraged to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables – there is a rainbow of colours to choose from – which provides a rich source of antioxidants, instead of sugary snacks and fast food, which are high in fat and sugar.

The vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables provide the following benefits:

The breath is key. It is the first aspect of our physiology which changes when we are becoming ungrounded.

You may have heard the breath called an ‘anchor’ in meditation.

That’s because it not only helps our awareness anchor into the moment, but it helps to reduce the affects of the trigger that is stimulating the stress response.

Focusing on the out breath is a very easy way to calm the nervous system.

To engage children with focusing on the out-breath, invite them to make a sound and listen to it as they make it (remember to join in!)

Or you can invite them to notice the sensation of their breath on their hands as they breathe out.
