Last night, during our 2025 Comfort Keepers Parksville Christmas Party, D'Arcy shared a deeply moving story about what inspired her to open Comfort Keepers Parksville โ a story shaped by more than 40 years as a Registered Nurse.

After more than 40 years as a Registered Nurse โ from assisting with pioneering cardiac surgeries on newborns to leading care in complex care facilities โ one moment stayed with me:
"๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ช๐ผ๐ฎ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฝ ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฑ๐ธ๐ถ๐ฎ."
That quiet plea came from so many seniors being admitted to long-term care. And it broke my heart.
In 2018, I founded Comfort Keepers as a response to that request โ a promise to help more seniors remain where they truly want to be: at home, surrounded by comfort, dignity, and the life they've built.
Over the past 7 years, we've helped make that vision real for countless families โ and Iโve had the honour of working alongside an extraordinary team who shares this passion.
From care coordinators and schedulers to caregivers and support staff โ every person plays a role in elevating the human spirit.
We believe that our seniors โ the teachers, builders, mothers, and mentors of our world โ deserve more than the last thought.
They deserve care that is personal, joyful, and deeply respectful.
