Being in Canada has me loving America even more and it’s not because I’m “choosing a side.” I’m a world lover. Period.

America is awesome. Canada is awesome. And this isn’t about the people or the countries… it’s about the administration and the decisions being made.

I want to be honest and share that I am feeling very anxious about my upcoming check-in appointment with ICE on April 16. This has been an incredibly stressful and emotional time for our family, and we are doing everything we can to navigate it with strength and hope.

What happened opened my eyes even more to the reality so many people are living every single day. While we were there, I saw people who had been incarcerated for 10 months, some for 2 years, waiting, suffering, and separated from their families. This should never be normal, and it has to stop.
