💡 Most experts suggest 18–36 months before conceiving again. This window gives your body the space to heal, restore, and feel truly ready for the next chapter.

I know this window of time can feel like an eternity, but think of it as an investment in your health + your current & future baby’s health 💕

✨ Did you know breastfeeding can press pause on your fertility? ✨

When you’re nursing, your body makes more prolactin (the milk-making hormone). Prolactin also quiets down your ovulation hormones — so your cycle often stays on hold.

⚠️But here’s the thing: it’s not a guarantee. As feeds space out, baby starts solids, or your hormones shift, fertility can return — even before your first period even shows up because remember ovulation comes before your period 👀

That’s why learning to read your body’s fertility signs like cervical mucus is so powerful. Even in postpartum, your body gives you clues 🕵️

Whether you’re avoiding pregnancy naturally, open to another baby, or just want to understand your hormones — tracking helps you feel confident + in control 💪

Ovulation strips are helpful… but they don’t tell the whole story.

🚫 False positives – Conditions like PCOS can cause high LH even when you’re not ovulating.
🚫 False negatives – If your LH surge is too low, your strip may never show a positive.

Meanwhile…
💧 Fertile cervical mucus can show up before your test turns positive — giving s***m up to 5 days to wait for the egg.
❌ Or, you can ovulate without good CM, meaning s***m won’t survive long enough.
Bottom line: Learn your CM — it’s your most reliable fertility signal.

It’s easy to want to jump on the trendy train, cold plunge, créatine, colostrum, dry brushing, red light, sauna, castor oil in the belly button, what other trends am I missing?

But none of those things are going to move the needle if your foundation isn’t in place! What’s your foundation? It’s sleep, it’s nutrition, it’s movement, it’s nature.

Whenever I’m not feeling right, I’m looking at these basics:

🌸 eating within 30 minutes of waking
🌸 eating balanced meals/snacks every 3-4 hours, I don’t let my body guess when it’s going to be fed next
🌸 in bed by 10 (and my phone doesn’t follow me)
🌸 waking up and getting sunlight/not scrolling
🌸 movement in any form
🌸 hydrating with minerals
🌸 dialing back caffeine

And it works. I dare you to try it and I’m willing to bet you won’t come back to me and say you still feel like 💩

Is it easy and mindless? No, it takes some effort and discipline and consistency. But key word: consistency (not perfection). And it’s worthhhhh it

Short and light periods may seem like a dream, especially to someone with a heavy period buuuut, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Short and sweet can actually be a sign of deficiency

An ideal period lasts 3-7 days, with 1-2 days of moderate bleeding 🩸

And if that ^ isn’t the case, we want to look into ?why? by looking at the bigger picture, ie colour of your bleed, clotting, spotting before or after, are you eating enough, how’s your sleep, etc etc. There’s a reason consultation calls are longer than follow ups, it’s important to look at your unique symptoms and patterns

Hormonal birth control will regulate your cycle. ❌

Hormonal birth control is the only way to balance your hormones. ❌

Here to tell you, that is simply not true.

Let’s be clear, I’m not anti-HBC, but I am aware that HBC isn’t for everyone. It does have side effects (like any medication) that aren’t always explained when prescribed. Side effects that can be fatal, like a stroke. If you are on hormonal birth control and you experience headaches, especially migraines, migraines with aura, call a Dr. asap pleaseeee

And if you are taking hormonal birth control and you feel like it’s not right for you, there ARE other options like the fertility awareness method (FAM). I’ve used this method for 5 years now, pregnancy-free. But the best part is, when I do decide to have babies, I’ll use the same method. FAM is about identifying your fertile window using your body’s biomarkers like cervical mucus and basal body temperature. When you can narrow down your fertile window, you can then CHOOSE to prevent pregnancy, or optimize this fertile window 💃
